I need to explain, because leftists only have childlike reasoning abilities (or else they would not be leftists):
Geluck’s point is not “people I dislike are dumb.” That's what leftists with childlike reasoning say.
Geluck’s point is:
the person who is wrong does not feel the cost; everyone around them does.
Below are links to documented cases that fit that pattern.
These are news and official reports, not tweets, so poor Anchovies can just keep "walking his dog".
1. Canada: “immigration is better in basically every way” while per-person living standards fell
Headline GDP was treated as proof the policy worked. Per-person GDP and housing said otherwise. Ottawa later cut the inflow after calling the earlier surge unsustainable.
Geluck fit: the theorist still has a model. The renter has a smaller apartment.
2. San Francisco: billions on homelessness, outcomes still called “not a picture of success”
City reports themselves: hundreds of millions a year, people entering the system faster than they leave, overdose deaths inside city-funded housing, weak performance tracking.
Geluck fit: the contractor and the slogan survive. The person on the sidewalk, and the taxpayer, do not get a veto.
3. Same city: progressive prosecutor recalled after the streets became the evidence
Chesa Boudin was elected on reform. Voters removed him in 2022 after viral theft, attacks, and a homicide/overdose spike. His concession still blamed “right-wing billionaires,” not results.
Geluck fit: the DA does not live with the smash-and-grab. Shopkeepers did.
4. Seattle CHOP: “we keep us safe” — then two Black teenagers were shot dead
Police withdrew. The zone was sold as community safety. Antonio Mays Jr., 16, was killed inside it; another teen, Lorenzo Anderson, was killed nine days earlier. Six years later the Mays case is still unsolved. A new witness calls the shooting an execution. The city’s “summer of love” line did not apply to the dead.
Geluck fit: the occupiers declared the experiment a success. The boys’ families got funerals.
5. California high-speed rail: sold as 2020 and $33 billion; still no track, high estimate $231 billion
Voters were told SF–LA in under three hours by 2020. Eighteen years later: no rail laid on the promised route, inspector general saying the agency “obscured basic facts,” cash possibly gone by end of 2027.
Geluck fit: the brochure never has to ride the train that does not exist.
6. Venezuela: largest peacetime economic collapse in the modern era, still explained as “not real socialism” / sanctions only
GDP collapsed on the order of 75% from the mid-2010s peak. Millions fled. Hyperinflation, hunger, empty shelves. The line that it was never “real” socialism survived the empty refrigerators.
Geluck fit: the seminar still has a theory. The family that left on foot does not.
7. UK grooming-gang cases: authorities knew, feared the label, girls paid
Jay (2014): at least 1,400 children in Rotherham, 1997–2013. Casey and later audits: police and councils avoided ethnicity and pursuit “for fear of appearing racist.” Survivors were treated as “troubled.” The officials kept their posts longer than the girls kept their childhoods.
Geluck fit: this is the harshest version. The people with the theory of “community cohesion” were not the ones in the taxi.
Here's the kicker: JPP lefties are incapable or unwilling to examine the evidence of their own underdeveloped reasoning abilities.
