One thing that I have noticed is that leftists are obsessed with this idea of sock puppets. Why? Why does that subject even come up at all?

It just seems to me that the more someone appears to get their jollies engaging in obnoxious troll behavior, the greater the likelihood is that they'll engage in the use of sock puppet accounts to further their entertainment.
Certainly seems like the logical next step.
All part of the old "too clever by half" syndrome.

I don't see that, which is why I was asking. Why would a person go through the trouble of creating another account to post what can be posted under the existing account?
I get accused by leftists all the time, on every board, of being someone's sock, and I have never gotten any explanation for the silly notion other than I expressed a conservative postion ... just like another conservative did.
... unless it's not a sock. Nonetheless, good luck on sniffing them out; if you really do catch one, throw in some mockery from me as well.

Based on the nature and demeanor of their posts, I don't think they are the kind of people who would engage in that kind of thing. You'll disagree of course, so discussing the subject at length is pointless.
Depends on the person. Lionfish for example, seems like the kind of guy who thinks he's very clever and is also driven by an overarching desire to "own the libs". And it seems to me like a big part of "owning the libs" by someone like him, would include creating sock accounts to (in his mind) play us for fools and in doing so, make himself feel like he's accomplished his "owning" mission.
So? I've been accused of it too.
The thing about conservatives on boards like this, is their constant trolling and playing little games. Like posing absurd, nonsensical questions (usually in thread titles), making blatantly false comparisons and just spouting silly crap in general.
That in itself makes the right more suspect in the sock puppet department AFAIC.
Well, nobody knows for sure on an individual basis, but there are so many other behaviors righties engage in (see above) that the syndrome is obviously a thing.
I think it's because more than half of the leftist posters on this board are socks of Douche Duck (dutch uncle).
