Cruise ships have found a way around Florida's ban on vaccine passports

Starting August 1 through the end of the year, all unvaccinated Royal Caribbean Florida cruise passengers 12-years-old or older will have to show proof of travel insurance. The insurance must have a minimum of $25,000 in medical expense coverage and $50,000 for "quarantine and medical evacuation related to a positive COVID-19 test result" per person.

On top of insurance payments, unvaccinated cruisers will also have to pay for COVID-19 tests that vaccinated passengers won't need to take, amounting to an additional $136 or $178 payment depending on the sailing duration.

Carnival has a similar requirement for its Florida sailings: beginning July 31, every unvaccinated passenger 12-years-old or older will have to show proof of travel insurance, which has to cover a minimum of $10,000 in medical expenses and $30,000 in "emergency medical evacuation and without COVID-19 exclusions."

Unvaccinated Carnival guests who don't show proof of the vaccine will not be allowed to board and will not receive a refund. And like Royal Caribbean, Carnival passengers who don't want the jabs will also have to cough up an additional $150 for COVID-19 tests and other "health screening measures."

"Consistent with the practices of other lines who are also restarting their operations, and in the best interests of our guests who are unvaccinated, this is important coverage to have should they encounter a medical situation during their cruise," Vance Gulliksen, a Carnival spokesperson, told USA Today.

Plunking down money for a cruise right now as this bug gets worse in a hurry and as our so called vaccines are already failing is a supremely stupid move.

"We cant save everyone, and the stupid can go first".
My daughter several years back.

Cruise ships are floating petri dishes anyway.

I used to like them when dinner was black tie. That was very cool.
I had a beautiful Fabiano tux but it would never fit now, I'm afraid.

They're geared to people with whom I wouldn't necessarily want to sail, now.

They have priced cruising out of range of the ignorant unvaxxed. Hopefully other businesses will do so as well.

Rightys give it up, your teachers did. Steve Douchenozzle on Fox said he and the other talking heads on his show got the shot. He added that there is a lot of disinformation online like the vaccine kills people or changes your DNA. He said "get the shot, it will save your life."
They are realizing that their lies will bite them in the ass in lawsuits someday. You guys do not follow science so this guy can save you. When Trump says it, you have repeated it like a sermon.

Plunking down money for a cruise with 5,000 plus people who mostly suck is just plain stupid... It's like saying, "Gee, I think I'll get stuck in a line for a ride at Disneyland for a week or two..."

Any redneck with enough money can go on a cruise now. And that's fine. If it's your money, spend it how you like. But you don't get to infect others with your stupidity or your COVID.

I have a family member whose vacations must be cruises, only. She is dragging her feet about getting the vax. Her husband (who is vaxxed) told her they'll go on a cruise for Christmas but only if she gets the jab(s).

Yep, that's what those big cruise ships are like...

Nothing like a week at the shopping mall on Black Friday...

And you pay $5000 and come home with nothing. lol

Ugh, not my cup of tea at all. The only "cruise" I've ever been on was a three-day trip on the MV Columbia ferry ship between Bellingham, WA and Sitka, AK. It was laid back, kind of like the old hippie days. Some ppl camped out on deck, some had berths like we got, some slept on the movie room floor. It had a small dining room plus a bar plus a cafe. You could also bring your own food and adult beverages. Some ppl even had little propane stoves on deck they cooked with. It could carry ~500 ppl but there weren't that many, and everyone was spread out. Lovely trip, jaw-dropping scenery, whales! and once the ship stopped to help a fishing vessel that had floundered on the rocks.

I once went on a cruise ship. Never ever again. Imagine what it's like for those with social anxiety.

I did one after many months of the wife bugging me on Windstar--they don't allow kids, the ships are small ours only had like 300 guests aboard--from Japan to Alaska. It was nearly a month total with a 16 day Pacific crossing.

Only way she could get me to go. I had enough of being at sea in the Navy. Being at sea is like being in jail. But that time it was a very nice jail...

We've met people from cruise ships at various points in North Italy, the Adriatic Coast and Greece. Often they don't know where they are, or where they were last, and they are a screaming nuisance to the ports they visit, getting in everyone's way and spending nothing. As far as I can see, the main point of cruises is unlimited food and drink. As for me, a trip over to Ireland soon feels like prison, and a visit to some of the Scottish islands makes me wonder if there isn't something to be said for the doctrine of Purgatory. I am told that much of the population of the Isle of Man consists of day trippers who couldn't face the voyage back! And various cousins of mine are sea-captains too! :)

SAD LIBERALS ARE DOING THIS...

Think about it, cruise ships go to foreign countries. What right does DiSantis have to tell foreign countries who they have to take?
