That controversial statement was made on Monday by White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki during a news briefing in Washington.

"I will note, because we're data first here, facts first here, they've only distributed about 50% of the vaccines that they have been given in Florida," Psaki said. "So clearly, they have a good deal of the vaccine."

The governor said that, as of Monday, the state has received around 1.7 million first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine from the federal government, and has distributed those first doses to 1,249,439 people.

DeSantis said Florida is withholding additional doses of the vaccine, but those serve as booster shots/second doses for residents.

"We're not going to divert second doses away from seniors. Seniors want it. We're going to do it," DeSantis said. "So if the implication is you should be giving those doses away to other people, that's not the way the FDA has prescribed it, and so we are absolutely committed to that."
Palm Beach County leaders on Tuesday also questioned Psaki's claim that Florida is sitting on half of its vaccine supply.

DeSantis on Tuesday once again urged President Joe Biden's administration to send more doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to the Sunshine State.

"If we can get more first doses given to Florida, we would be able to do that much more, that much quickly," DeSantis said. "We're at the mercy of whatever is sent. So if they send 500,000 first doses instead of 266,000, I can double the drive-thru sites. I can give more to hospitals. I can expand Publix."

desantis is a liar-

According to the Centers for Disease Control, Florida has used 53 percent of COVID-19 doses that have been distributed to the state by the federal government. Florida’s 53 percent usage rate of COVID-19 doses is the same as the national average, which ranges from a high of 84 percent of distributed doses used in North Dakota to a low of 42 percent in Virginia.

No, it's a state issue. The president has nothing to do with COVID and COVID vaccinations.:laugh::laugh:

You fucking moron.

Bullshit. They're already in Publix. If it wasn't for Publix, Florida would have no plan at all. There is one site in Jacksonville giving vaccines. ONE. It is doing less than 1,000 vaccinations a day. The reality is that the websites don't work, they constantly crash, the information they provide is inaccurate, and the state is clueless. DeSantis is a joke. My mother is 96. I've tried dozens of times to get her an appointment. No chance. Where they live there are four Publix. The appointments for vaccinations at those stores are filled within minutes of being made available. Giving this idiot more isn't going to help. Hopefully now that we have a competent administration in Washington, we can take the keys away from this toddler and actually get people vaccinated in this state. Even if DeSantis is accurate, there is no excuse for sitting on half a million doses.

DeSantis calls White House 'disingenuous' for COVID-19 vaccine claim

I doubt DeSantis even knows where all the vaccines are. A lot have gone missing.

DeSantis says that rather than improve distribution, Biden should be trying to improve supply. But the resources that are used to improve distribution would not go to improving supply. It is like arguing that rather than fix roads, we should try to defeat Al Qaeda... Road crews and civil engineers would not be used to defeat Al Qaeda if they were laid off from road work.

And when DeSantis says we should not try to track down missing vaccines, he gives the game away. Why shouldn't we find the missing vaccines, and prosecute anyone involved with stealing them?
