Finding: Mr Pretti’s death was a homicide

A ruling that the vast majority of American voters already knew by watching the video. Sad.

Medical examiner rules Pretti death a homicide

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner has ruled that Alex Pretti, the Minneapolis nurse who was shot and killed by Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents in Minneapolis last month, died by homicide.

The report from Dr. Andrew Baker, posted to the county medical examiner’s public database, said that Pretti died in the emergency room at Hennepin County Medical Center after he was shot multiple times by federal agents on Jan. 24.

Video of the incident shows Pretti recording federal immigration officials on a cellphone, then attempting to assist a woman whom one agent had pushed down. The agents then surround the 37-year-old, with one appearing to disarm him before two agents fired multiple shots at him.

A division of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and FBI took the initial lead on the investigation into the shooting, but a federal judge ordered federal investigators on the day of the incident to preserve evidence it collects — after the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office filed suit against Trump administration officials.
