This is red state Indiana and Note Dame University. About as conservative as it gets.

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — Dozens of graduates and family members silently stood and walked out Sunday as Vice President Mike Pence began his address at Notre Dame's commencement ceremony.

Pence, the former governor of Indiana, was invited to speak after Notre Dame students and faculty protested the prospect of President Donald Trump being invited to become the seventh U.S. president to give the commencement address.

Pence spoke briefly of Trump, praising his speech to the leaders of 50 Arab and Muslim nations earlier in the day in Saudi Arabia. Pence said the president "spoke out against religious persecution of all people of all faiths and on the world stage he condemned, in his words, the murder of innocent Muslims, the oppression of women, the persecution of Jews and the slaughter of Christians."

Trump has faced harsh criticism for his anti-Islamic rhetoric during the campaign, as well as his administration's legal battle to impose a travel ban on several Muslim-majority countries.

Earlier in the ceremony, valedictorian Caleb Joshua Pine urged a "stand against the scapegoating of Muslims" and criticized Trump's push to build a wall along the Mexican border.

Cassandra Dimaro and her parents were among those who walked out. Dimaro told the South Bend Tribune that it was a show of solidarity "for those of us impacted by the policies of the Trump administration."

Pence didn't comment on the walkout, which was expected, but he did allude to clashes at campuses elsewhere that have derailed appearances by controversial speakers, such as conservative firebrand Ann Coulter at the University of California at Berkeley.

"This university (Notre Dame) is a vanguard of the freedom of expression and the free exchange of ideas at a time, sadly, when free speech and civility are waning on campuses across America," he said.

I wondered why the term snowflake started to be an insult and here's what the urban dictionary says.

Snowflake
Referring to someone, usually the Alt-Right, Yiannopoulos, And Nazi Sympathizers (A.K.A. Especially telling is the pseudo-concept of a Snowflake Generation, which operates as a front for the ARYANS' need to mark out groups of people to direct their genocidal lust towards.

"There sure is a lot of Nazi-supporting definitions piling up in the last pages of this word, they are all written by snowflakes who can't deal with having lost the popular vote."

For the love of God. How many videos do I need to post on this site of USC crushing Notre Dame and ND people crying. I know for some the world does not revolve around college football but for as much as people argue on this site about how smart and successful they are who else here graduated from a top 25 university? Anyone?
 
Nomad, you claim UCF? Yeah, ND is soft and rape central. Ask Brian Kelley. Now you want to hold ND up as virtue? Did these same students walk out of a football game? No they didn't. So they are impressive to walk out on Pence but not rape? Is that what liberals stand for?

As I mentioned in your other thread....those who oppose the supposed 'rape culture' simply don't attend the football games.

I'll wait for you to post pix of the students who shunned Pence, at a football game.
 
The fact that academia, the liberal news media, and whiny liberals in general are all still whining, kicking, throwing things, etc means Trump is s till winning.

The exact same atmosphere as with the election.

lol Unlike you libs, we conservatives actually allow and tolerate dissenting opinions in our places of higher learning, as long as the folks exposing them pay tuition.
 
100 students walked out during Pence's speech, out of a graduating class of 2,100.
