Muslimania

If Muslims tell you they are here to conquer, believe them.

  • Iraq: Large Christian communities (Church of the East) plus Zoroastrian, Jewish, and pagan populations — not a uniformly Christian country. Now ~95–99% Muslim.
  • Syria: Was majority Christian in the late Roman/Byzantine period. Now ~87–93% Muslim (Christians fell sharply in the civil war).
  • Libya: Was Christian (Roman North Africa). Now ~97% Muslim.
  • Egypt: Was majority Christian. Now ~90% Muslim (Copts commonly estimated ~10%; 95% overstates it).
  • Sudan: North after the South Sudan split. Now ~91% Muslim. “Was Christian” is overstated for the whole historic territory.
  • Jordan: Was Christian in the Byzantine period. Now ~97% Muslim.
  • Turkey: Anatolia was majority Christian. Now ~98–99% Muslim by identity.
  • Algeria: Was Christian (Roman North Africa). Now ~99% Muslim.
  • Lebanon: Was Christian. Now ~61% Muslim (still a large Christian minority).
  • Tunisia: Was Christian. Now ~99% Muslim (99.5% is fine as rounding).
  • Morocco: Was Christian. Now ~99% Muslim.
  • Albania: Was Christian before Ottoman rule. Now ~51% if you combine Sunni + Bektashi; 2023 census Sunni ID is closer to ~46%, plus a large non-religious/unspecified share.
  • Bosnia and Herzegovina: Mixed Christian before Ottoman rule. Now ~50–51% Muslim.
