JAN 21 2020 Rep. Ilhan Omar needs competent immigration counsel to ensure that there is no threat of her losing her citizenship, or, worse, deportation.

The Department of Justice has reportedly assigned an FBI special agent to work with Immigration and Customs and Enforcement and the Department of Education Inspector General Charge to investigate Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) for alleged criminal violations relating to perjury, immigration fraud, marriage fraud, state and federal tax fraud, federal student loan fraud, and bigamy.

As an immigration lawyer, the very first question that came to mind when I read these reports was what immigration consequences, if any, could attach in the event that any of the above allegations are proven beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. My analysis, unfortunately, has resulted in more unanswerable questions than definitive answers.

Omar is an American citizen, so it is darn tough to deport her. It is a lot easier to send her to prison... So where is the criminal prosecution? That would be the obvious first step, and yet there is none.

You would need to not only prove criminal activity, but criminal activity that went to her citizenship. Given that you have not been able to prove criminal activity at all...

Marrying her brother would not only be a crime but reason to deport . On the other hand she's a great example of what the left not only defends but embraces. Kinda like the mullah leaders of Iran. MAGA!
 
Well, she’ll at least get a proper investigation and if warranted a proper trial with witnesses and evidence.

She did not marry her brother. But for the sake of argument, lets say she did.

That is definitely a crime, but no reason to deport a US citizen. Millions of Americans are convicted of crimes, but they are not deported. If she were not an American citizen, then yes, committing a crime can be a reason for deporting. But for a US citizen, a crime is not a reason to be deported.

Grounds for Denaturalization

In other words, Omar can rob banks all day long, and that is not a deportable issue.

Your problem seems to be that you cannot prove she is guilty of any crime... So you double down and demand her deportation.

So no source... It doesn't matter. A fictional marriage to her brother, not only did not happen, but it would not have been first grounds for citizenship, and therefore cannot be grounds for losing citizenship.
