Why do we have all these idiots jumping on Al Franken, over this one accusation?

It was a facetious answer to your misguided question. You are being obtuse about the point that the Franken story is being hyped by Republicans to distract from the tax scam bill disaster they're trying to push through.

You'll find the Trump contingent here at Just Plain Politics have got "obtuse" down cold!

No it isn't .. not by a long shot.

Changing attitudes is about changing culture. Attitudes are indeed changing, but that change of culture has been hundreds of years in the making.

Healthcare is about life and death now.

It shouldn't offend you. I'm more pro-woman than you are.

I'll bite, how so? (and to save us the time what do you do personally that I don't, not how you vote)

Who is being distracted? You're acting like people can only focus on one thing at a time. If distraction is an issue why are Democrats focusing on Roy Moore? I mean I know why they are, the guy is unfit for office, but that's a distraction from the tax bill. So if the tax bill trumps all why all the discussion of Moore?

We have an ADMITTED Sexual predator who was elected PRESIDENT despite his admission that he's grabbed women by the pussy and kissed them against their will.

And we have an entire block of voters who will vote for the pervert again despite knowing full well what his sexual proclivities were before the election.

THAT is why the behavior will never change.

Go back to Bill Clinton in the '90's as some high profile Democrats have here recently and see the pass he was given for his behavior. You think if Clinton was kicked out of office Trump would be President today? I don't.

Political expediency often has consequences.

That's fine, doesn't offend me. But that General attitude is why the behavior won't ultimately change

No, it's not. Nothing about pointing out that the harms of Republican policies are more harmful than many appreciate will not prevent the cultural correction to strengthen our opposition to sexual harassment.

Fair question. One reason is how Moore's behavior was much worse and it can change the result of the upcoming Senate election where one vote can change the result of Senate votes. Another is that Democrats should be doing more against the tax bill than they are.

Clinton was given a softened response to his behavior for a variety of reasons. One was people questioning his accusers, another was the different culture then about the behavior, another was partisanship, another was the effectiveness of Hillary in defending him. And yes, I do think had Clinton resigned, it would not have changed the cult-like support of trump by his supporters - who HE said he'd lose none of he he murdered someone.

Sorry, but how you vote counts more than just what you do personally, which only counts with the people you can touch.

Being pro-woman is about supporting women that you never see or touch. Not about how you treat the women in your family.

Gender equality, reproductive rights, and women's empowerment .. are those issues that you support with your vote?

I don't agree with that. I've never been to a funeral where I've heard someone described as a great person because of how they voted. Life is more than just how we vote.

San Francisco is more liberal than Atlanta. I have voted for the last four Democratic Mayors of SF including donating money to Gavin Newsom, the only politician I've ever given too. Does that mean I more pro-woman than you on a local level?

I think it was 1987 when Gary Hart dropped out because he was caught having an affair. Clinton got through that in '92 but I think there is no way Trump wins without Clinton surviving all he did. Especially when his opponent was Hillary and he could blunt her attacks by pointing out her husband's behavior (and her involvement in it).

I think if Conservatives/Republicans were in ANY WAY consistent in their acceptance of women's statements regarding being sexually assaulted, then Trump wouldn't be in office.

Sadly, the same hypocritical Republicans who excoriated Clinton for his philandering, gladly give Trump a pass for doing the EXACT same thing.

This is why I admire you!

Spare me Zap. Once again everyone else is a hypocrite but you.

Trump cheated on Ivana with Marla Maples and hypocritical Republicans give him a pass.

They had a problem with Clinton's affair, but NOT Trump's.

The very definition of hypocrisy.

Should we admire Weinstein then? I mean he was a scumbag as a person but he voted correctly and gave A LOT of money to the right politicians. So why does his personal behavior matter?

It's a big world out there Zap. Try reading things other than rawstory. Even other Democratic writers and you might see it.
