It really has little to do w/ my own life. I've had a great year.
I look to the long term. Of course, we can survive Trump. But we're talking about a leader who has no problem whatsoever tearing down any longstanding institution we have for self-preservation. He is undermining our law enforcement, media, the State Dept., et al. Trump is redefining our basic concept of the truth, and (imo) not for the better. It's a world of "alternative facts" now. He is also someone who seeks to stoke hatred & division wherever he can, and has promoted discrimination with his rhetoric.
Overall, I see these things as being potentially very damaging to the nation. I think it's okay to be concerned about it. Whether you agree w/ what I wrote above or not, I don't think you'd disagree that he is fundamentally changing many things about our government and other aspects of how we do things. If you like Trump, you probably think it's for the better. I don't like him, and think it could have some very negative long-term ramifications.
