BAC people were chanting racism at City Hall. People were calling it racism on Facebook. There were multiple articles online calling it racist. (I posted the one from the root).
These weren't Republicans saying this. I'm just saying what happened.
I would say the exact same things I'm saying to you to the people chanting racism. That's counter-productive to progress.
My problem with you saying it is that you need to spend more time combating and speaking against real racism within your own party. There is no equivalency. The Republican Party is racist, the Democratic Party is not.

he never changes to admit his failures anymore
he did when I FIRST met him on here
that didn't last long though
He's a fraud just like the rest of them. Just because he doesn't spew nigga lover, doesn't mean he doesn't support those who do.
Again, we disagree...or at least I disagree with this Oped/article.
Nixon was a racist piece of shit who ascended the imprisonment of Black males in America.
His "heart" is still attached to the racist mind that would do such a thing.
That's all I need to know about him.
.. although I disagree with your assessment of Nixon.nobody is claiming the democrat party is racist,
YOU are racist, individuals are racist, not the republican party.
You are racist by your very words, the bottom of the scum bucket is what you are, adding nothing to unity, freedom, or the American way
own it
You know I love you... although I disagree with your assessment of Nixon.
Bill Clinton was the greatest jailer of black males .. BY FAR. Did you vote for Bill Clinton?
Nixon, who was the only president to live in public housing, tried repeatedly to pass a health care plan far better than Obamacare.
In 1956, as vice president, Nixon went to Harlem to declare, “America can’t afford the cost of segregation.” The following year, Nixon got a personal letter from Dr. King thanking him for helping to persuade the Senate to pass the Civil Rights Act of 1957. Nixon supported the civil rights acts of 1964, 1965, and 1968.
Nixon called out segregationist candidates in ’66 and called on LBJ, Hubert Humphrey, and Bobby Kennedy to join him in repudiating them. None did. Hubert, an arm around Lester Maddox, called him a “good Democrat.” And so were they all—good Democrats. While Adlai chose Sparkman, Nixon chose Spiro Agnew, the first governor south of the Mason Dixon Line to enact an open-housing law.
In Nixon’s presidency, the civil rights enforcement budget rose 800 percent. Record numbers of blacks were appointed to federal office. An Office of Minority Business Enterprise was created. SBA loans to minorities soared 1,000 percent. Aid to black colleges doubled.
When LBJ left office, 10 percent of Southern schools were desegregated. When Nixon left, the figure was 70 percent.
How a Republican Desegregated Southern Schools.

That republican was Richard Nixon.
Not exactly the hallmark of a racist.
You've posted before about the history of racism black people have faced in SF. If you believe they're wrong for saying this is another chapter that's your right but I don't I think all people share the idea that one being a democrat means they aren't or can't be racist
what was it the country was clamouring for at the time?
an end to gangs and violence
there was a prominate study at the time that promoted the idea of the fix that was then voted into law
signed By the president because the VAST majority of Amercians wanted signed
You know I love you... although I disagree with your assessment of Nixon.

We could have a similar discussion about George Bush .. who also is not a racist.
I've never said that being a democrat means that you're not a racist .. but that is FAR more likely if you belong to a virtually all white party.
Every tine you say this, your argument falls apart under its own weight.
I would think Nixon appointed many more blacks as a result of the Civil Rights Act. - not any particular affinity for blacks -but that's my guess based on the chronology ( 1964 Act).
Fuck Nixon to hell- along his Evil War of "Peace with Honor" and his loathsome DEA
To each his own. You can think they aren't racist, that's your prerogative.
I go by how they governed.
Yes I voted for Clinton, because there is no way on this earth would I ever vote for a republican. I won't intentionally support their racist behaviors.
As for Bush, I don't believe for 1 second he did anything to support Africans and aids.....please spare me the articles regarding the issue, I've seen them all.

I remember watching it pass and was against it
three strikes should have been for ONLY violent crime
the VAST majority of voters ASSUMED it was
I swear if everyone knew that one fact it would have nit been passed as written
but the BIG impact was state laws mimicking the fed law
