Mueller delays sentencing Flynn

Understand: If Flynn’s conversations with the Russian ambassador had evinced the existence of a quid pro quo collusion arrangement — that the Trump administration would ease or eliminate sanctions on Russia as a payback for Russia’s cyber-espionage against the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic party — it would have been completely appropriate, even urgently necessary, for the Obama Justice Department to investigate Flynn.

???....hopefully you do realize that Flynn's meeting with the ambassador happened in December.......AFTER the election......and the settlement agreement between Flynn and the government says he went to ask them not to retaliate against the US for Obama's stupidity.....nothing about any quid pro quo......

I would think anything Strzok touched would compromise the investigation.

Which is why I think they are delaying Flynn’s sentencing due to ‘the status of the Special Counsel’s investigation’. That, and things are up in the air until the Memo comes out.

I’d like to see someone get nailed for prosecutorial misconduct.
there I agree......I am sure that Flynn's lawyers are already saying the settlement agreement is worthless in light of recent revelations and they are not going forward until they see what there is in the memo regarding Flynn.....

I’ve wondered where Flynn’s lawyers were on that.

Maybe that’s it.
Damn...you guys got some bad news today...didn't you? Strzok pushed to, and drafted the letter to Congress informing them of the new and improved Clinton investigation one week before the election.

ooops

You mean the investigation that was reopened and then miraculously closed within days lol?

Yes...the original 'nothingburger' that Strzok created, while the FBI remained silent on the ongoing trump/Russia investigation. That one.

What’s that have to do with miraculously fast open and shut investigations?
Because they tainted the election, they were on a tight deadline to either find something, or put it to rest.

In the end, there were no new emails. Had Comey kept his mouth shut, there would have been no rush. In case you forget, he cited 'concerns that someone in the FBI would leak the info', so he chose to notify Congress.

That doesn't fit your 'the FBI is anti trump' narrative.

There’s no putting a happy face on Strzok.

Even Mueller was forced to kick him off the team. I wonder why Mueller didn’t tell anybody?

Flynn did promise to cooperate..
neither Flynn nor Mueller has any interest in sentencing any sooner then absolutely necessary

You silly people can pretend what you want, it won’t change what is really happening.

Flynn did absolutely agree to cooperate. But you already knew that.

If you were actually interested in Strzok (I hate having to spell that fucking name) the data is out there. He bashed everyone during the campaign. Most on the FBI are Republicans. But don't let the facts get in the way of your foil hat party.

Strzok interviewed Flynn; and December was well before it became apparent Strzok was effectively fired by Mueller for extreme political bias in a politically sensitive investigation.

If Flynn’s lawyer is sitting on his hands while knowing all that, Flynn needs to fire him and find a new lawyer.

that too of course..
Unless the lawyer is confident Flynn walks,or does like a couple months, in which case he'd accept that

They follow the Rump philosophy, say a lie enough and some people start to believe it.

Depends what you mean by walk.

Flynn already plead guilty, he will not do any time if he continues to cooperate.

But if that had happened, Mueller would not be permitting Flynn to settle the case with a single count of lying to FBI agents. Instead, we would be looking at a major conspiracy indictment, and Flynn would be made to plead to far more serious offenses if he wanted a deal — cooperation in exchange for sentencing leniency.

To the contrary, for all the furor, we have a small-potatoes plea in Flynn’s case — just as we did in Papadopoulos’s case, despite extensive “collusion” evidence.

That he was a partisan doesn’t matter since everyone has their political opinions.

Strzok’s problem was he intended to *act on them* via the ‘insurance policy. Mueller fired him for a reason: if that word got out it would give people like Flynn daylight and risk the whole investigation.

Hence the OP.
