The problems are niggers and spics who are responsible for the vast majority of the gun homicide rate even though they account for less than 40% of the population. Take niggers and spics out of the equation and the US homicide rate plummets to western European levels overnight.

There are any number of reasonable safeguards that can be passed, but the republican congress is afraid of the NRA. It will hurt them badly in the next election.
