Hello hvilleherb,
Mueller has no right to look into money laundering, it was not part of the original scope.
I believe he does.
"Office Of The Deputy Attorney General, Washington DC
ORDER NO. 3915-2017
APPOINTMENT OF SPECIAL COUNSEL TO INVESTIGATE RUSSIAN INTERFERENCE WITH THE 2016 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION AND RELATED MATTERS
c) If the Special Counsel believes it is necessary and appropriate, the Special Counsel is authorized to prosecute federal crimes arising from the investigation of these matters."
His Actual Authority
That gives all the authority needed. It says all Mueller has to do is believe it is necessary and appropriate to look into money laundering and he can BRING CHARGES AGAINST PRESIDENT TRUMP. He is absolutely authorized to do that.
And listen to yourself!
Do you want this President so badly that you are willing to give him a pass on money laundering? Why would you
not want to know about it and have justice served, if he really did it? That's preposterous. We can't have a criminal hold our highest office. That makes a mockery of the rule of law. It's like using the Constitution to wrap a fish. Come on! What do you stand for?
This goes way beyond refusing to show his taxes. He wasn't required to do that. But he is required to follow federal law. No man is above the law. This lawful order is how Justice makes sure the President is held to the law of the land.
This may explain, however, why he would NOT show his taxes.
Even after he said he would, numerous times and gave numerous conditions which were accepted, only to see him move the goal posts and change the conditions, ending with the 'under audit' lie. (Being under audit does not prevent one from showing their taxes.) And being President does not prevent one from being held to the law of the land.
