President Clinton happened to be President when the global economy surged ahead due to computers, including in countries that were unaffected by US policy. The debt was already projected to grow by $9T over the next 10 years even if nothing else changed because of social security and medicare obligations, so yes I do know that. Debts don't grow by $9T if there is no deficit.
Fuck me rigid, he is ten times the man you are when it comes to economic matters.

Yes but if the economy is healthy and growing they should be able to find private sector jobs.Hello Mott,
Doesn't most government spending support workers either directly or indirectly? Isn't it true that any government spending cuts mean layoffs for somebody?
I rather think we all know that worker productivity and worker compensation were divorced from one another back in the very early 1970s, no?

I'm good thanks, the thing is, it is america that did not turn out the way america says it did/does, and wants us all to forget.

I have told him repeatedly that he is on my permanent thread ban list of known racists, trolls, libelers, and dunces. But he apparently cannot stay away from my threads, and I think the mods have some explanation of how he is willfully able to evade thread bans.
On the topic of the thread, I never cease to amaze that no matter how many times trickle down, voodoo economics fails to deliver on its predictions and promises, and generally ends up resulting in fiscal and budgetary disaster, the rightwing clings to it like an article of faith. Which leads to another interesting question....is this weird rightwing fealty to voodoo economics an article of faith? Is it borne of immutable emotional investment? Are there deep roots of dishonesty that compel them to support it? Or are the other reasons they support the failures of voodoo economics, but are unwilling to articulate? I have my theories about it....

Look at the economic growth of the '80's. Those numbers speak for themselves. Obama was your traditional big government Keynesian and look what that produced. And economic inequality continued on a hockey stick. What's the argument today for Keynesian economics and what examples of success are we supposed to look to?
The power structure has no need to worry about any so called debt, and you'll notice they don't. At all. Only their mouths pretend otherwise, not their actions.
