PIERS MORGAN: No wonder Trump fired James ‘Judas’ Comey

cancel2 2022

Canceled
The central premise of Comey’s lengthy literary whine is that Donald Trump’s ‘morally unfit’ to be President.

Yet, as revealed by his own damning words, it’s Comey himself who is not only ‘morally unfit’, but was also ultimately most responsible for getting Trump elected.

It was HIS decision to announce, just 11 days before the 2016 election, that the FBI was re-opening its investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails after new ones had been uncovered.

Nine days later, just 48 hours before America voted, and after a week of fevered media coverage, Comey then announced the new emails had been reviewed and Hillary was in the clear.

By then, the damage was done and many people, including Hillary herself, believe the sudden onslaught of negative publicity that followed the original bombshell news helped tip Trump into the White House.

They or may not be right about that, but nobody could argue it was anything but massively unhelpful to the Democrat candidate.

Now, astonishingly, Comey’s admitted he made this decision for political, not legal reasons.

‘It is entirely possible that because I was making decisions in an environment where Hillary Clinton was sure to be the next president,’ he told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, ‘my concern about making her an illegitimate president by concealing the restarted investigation bore greater weight that it would have if the election appeared closer or if Trump were ahead in all polls.’

Sorry, WHAT?

Maggot has started a thread about morals ?

Moonslug is now quoting a caterpillar, seems quite fitting

Yet more evidence that the right sees Trump as the Second Coming.

By 11 days before the election there were probably 11 voters who were undecided lol.

Comey’s last minute reopening of the email investigation is another in a long line of excuses. By late October anyone who was going to vote for Hillary already knew what they were voting for.

Morgan is right that Comey is a kind of Judas figure who would have sold his boss to the Pharisees for 30 bits of silver. He was clearly up to something by not making Trump aware that the Dossier was opposition research paid for by his political enemies.

When asked about why he wasn’t forthright about it, Comey’s reply was ‘I don’t have a good answer for that question’.

I was like ‘huh’? What do mean you don’t have a good answer?

It’s all starting to make sense: Trump had every reason to be suspicious of Comey’s intentions and ask about ‘his loyalty’. And Trump had every reason to fire him.

Comey's actions did no more to elect Donald Trump than Vladimir Putin's. It is complete bullshit

Neither Comey nor Putin told Hillary to call voters deplorables or not to campaign in the midwest. Those were her decisions.

Additionally, Comey was protecting Hillary. There was very damaging information in those 650,000 emails and Comey knew it. The only way he could get the FBI's hands on the evidence was to reopen the case.

Does anyone really believe that in one week the FBI was able to read and verify 650,000 emails? Seriously?

Comey knew in the end he was protecting Hillary from what was on that laptop. He knew that once she won, it would all blow over and go away. But, she didn't win.

Morgan should have stayed as a judge on one of those TV shows where he was so terrible. At least there, his self-absorbed opinions would have sounded less like insanity.

Or he could have continued working for Rupert Murdoch.

He is a jerk...and wouldn't make a decent pimple on James Comey's ass.

Bingo.

Especially, on the reopening of the investigation. Comey banked on the fact there was no way Trump could win, so he pulled a preemptive CYA in the event Trump would say the prior investigation—and the election, were rigged in Hillary’s favor.

Comey owns what will arguably be considered the biggest miscalculation in the history of domestic politics.

If Hillary had been elected, one of her first orders of business would have been firing Comey.

and rightfully so

he acted in a political manner against the Democratic party

he didn't have the evil in him to back trumpys crimes though

in the end he placed country over party

Unlike 90% of republicans now have done by backing trumpy
