If Vladimir Putin had lost the Russian election last month by three million votes, and yet clung to power, I guarantee there would be Republicans calling him an illegitimate leader who subverts the will of the people.

The "will of the people" didn't want Hillary, either. Makes it hard when both major candidates have negative ratings.
 
It's basically ingrained in legislative history: Democrats want more people to vote, and Republicans do not.

If everyone who could vote actually voted, it would be devastating for the GOP.

Well, each of those values are all relative ....actually, Comey influenced my vote more than I like to admit...especially on character, truthfulness and fitness for office....
Obviously neither is a saint and have various character flaws....as we all do....
Neither is 100% truthful and both have major character problems....I just concluded Trump has the better intelligence to run the country....his sex life and morals are mostly irrelevant ..
his 'sins' are his problem, not mine....his lies, mostly boastful nonsense about things of little consequence to the country...
Its sadly a fact of life that ALL politicians lie to one degree or another....its more what that lie is about and does it affect me or the country's well being...Hillary's lies met that threshold...

I was a JFK Democrat and came to see his morals and sex life weren't up to par either, but I'm not sorry for supporting him...

I don't understand how you or anybody can say that trump has the better intelligence to run the country. That's mind-boggling. He's not only ignorant, he refuses to learn. He could be surrounding himself with some really bright people who can teach him something but his ego won't allow it. Refer to his comment "I know more about ISIS than the generals do. Believe me." for just one example.

I don't much care about trump's sex life either but I do care about the way he treats and refers to women. He can't stand smart, self-confident women. He needs someone silent and compliant and the minute they speak up for themselves he slams them. Do you think American women appreciated the way he referred to Carly Fiorina during the campaign? I wouldn't vote for her but I felt for her, that she was a target of trump's piggishness.

As far as lying I am alarmed at how his lies affect the country. America's been on a roller coaster ride with him since day one. So my question is, if you supported trump because of his campaign promises and then he went back on them, how can you trust anything he says?
