"Ranked: The Best And Worst State Economies"

Well your simply wrong there. The largely conservative states 100 to 200 years ago are still largely conservative today and the liberal and bellweather States 100 to 200 years ago are still largely liberal and moderate. Don't believe me? Go look at a Blue and Red (Grey) map from 1861.

And as has been pointed out to you the demographics of who is moving where is also important. I mean I looked at the map. It's was silly. It had Ohio ranked 37th. Never mind the fact that we're one of the smaller States Geographically but have a population >11 million and we're #7th State in the nation in GDP. Pretty impressive considering were about 1/5th size of Cali and 1/4th the size of Texas i area. We also have the same problem as Cali has for longer than Cali with mainly blue collar workers immigrating to where there are blue collar jobs. We're not losing the best and the brightest and the most productive. Were not growing much either. That's true in California too.

You're using liberal and conservative in different ways then compared to red and blue today.

I voted to lynch you when you were my team mate. That should be proof enough that I’m smart. ;)

The biggest contributors to ohio's gdp are pimps and whores.

I am? How so?

"Blue" and "Red" states reference to how people vote in Presidential elections. One that has changed over time. Two, many states have voted for a Governor of an opposite party than they voted for President. This survey is talking about states, not national elections. There's too much focus on the labeling rather than what the states are actually doing.

"entrepreneurs"

My drill sergeant in basic training said that to me when he asked where I was from and I answered Youngstown, Ohio. I countered him with, "I knew that sergeant, that's why I left."

I do love the mafia, though. They are more trustworthy, honest and benevolent than politicians.

neither Cali nor the NE are losing population. Cali is losing its poor to texas but overall is gaining pop. https://www.census.gov/popclock/data_tables.php?component=growth never ever buy into a right wingers lies.

The poor were only going to Texas when they could get $80,000 oil field and truck driving jobs. Now they are primarily middle class. Those leaving CA are going to NV, WA, OR, AZ, and TX.

The most common reason is taxes and real estate prices. CA cannot hire teachers, police, or fire in some areas because they cannot afford to live there.

...and when they kill you it's never personal...just business.

One good earthquake should fix the problem.

But I know what you mean. I was offered a position at TESLA's northern Cali plant a few years back as a project manager and when they offered me a 20% pay increase I promptly turned the offer down. Told them I needed a 50% pay increase. They never counter offered. I mean I'm sure the 300 days of sunshine they get in Cali is nice but damn I can buy a 3,000 sq. ft. modern home in Dublin for what an 800 sq. ft. shack in the ghetto goes for in Cali.

interesting......California #2 in economic activity, but #26 in economic health.........so lots of start-ups, but lots of failures......Massachusetts - #4 versus #29......DC ranked high because of all the new lobbying firms......
