Harley Davidson shutting down US factory, moving jobs to Bangkok ................

Yep, I rode HDs for 40 years, and worked in HD dealerships for 5 years. I started noticing that in my 50's, I was about the youngest guy in the store. The customer base in the US is getting too old to ride. About four years ago, Polaris started making Indians again. Really nice bikes with an excellent proprietary engine. I've had 2 of them since and they're the best bikes I've ever owned. But I am 61 years old now, and I'm still one of the youngest customers in the dealership. I do hope Indian hangs in there for a few years though. It's gonna be rather tedious looking out the window of the retirement home at nothing but crotch rockets whizzing by.

I've noticed a number of Can-Am's lately too.

trump said moving businesses abroad would stop once he was elected. It was crap you rightys wanted to believe. Same dor carrier. trump went there and announced they would be hiring and staying in US. They went to Mexico as planned and got a huge pile of money from trump too. a win/win.

That's right, he did!

He also said his big tax cut would bring businesses who had left the country, back to America.

Of course, his followers don't give a shit that he lied both times.

Truth's painful, isn't it?

When you think you might start calling out Trump for his numerous broken promises?

Your lying here is painful. And you're right, Trump lies all the time yet you have to lie here to try to make him look bad. What does that say about you?

Pointing out the truth in the face of your bullshit lies.

It's what I do.

I see. So although Harley Davidson announced this planned move in 2015 they really did so because they knew a tax cut was coming in 2017. I mean it makes total sense. Businesses always know these things years before anyone else.

You know how you can tell when the Trumpkin is losing the debate?

When he has to change what you wrote to make his point.

Thanks for showing everyone just how desperate you are.

What's there to debate about HD moving one of their operations overseas?
That is the topic, isn't it?

Oh, so NOW they announced the plant closing in 2015?

If we keep arguing about this long enough, I imagine you'll be claiming the closing announcement was made sometime near the end of the 20th century.

Now, again, I counter with F-A-C-T-S:

Kansas City Harley Davidson plant closure to put hundreds out of jobs

About 800 Missourians will lose their jobs when Harley-Davidson Incorporated closes its Kansas City motorcycle assembly plant in the fall of 2019. This week’s announcement was a complete surprise to employees, who came to work and found the doors shut to them, but were told to come back to work Wednesday.

Harley has planned on consolidating production at the Kansas City plant since 2015, before Trump was even in office; when the company made the announcement, it said that it was due to slowing motorcycle sales.

Harley said the employees were notified in November 2015 that it planned to consolidate the production of Softail cruiser motorcycles at its Kansas City plant starting with the 2018 model year.

Read what I posted earlier in this thread. You come in talking sh*t and have no idea what the discussion is about.

So the plan in 2015 was to CONSOLIDATE production in KC, NOT shut down the KC plant and move production overseas.
