Harley Davidson shutting down US factory, moving jobs to Bangkok ................

Correlation doesn't indicate causation, dummy. I'm waiting for trump to drop the bomb on HD since he vowed to punish companies that moved overseas.

What the fuck are you rambling about?

It has everything to do with cost.

Pay attention to what the thread is about, then educate yourself on the topic... then perhaps you will have something other than your leftwingnut bullshit to spew all over the thread.

Of course I think costs play a role but that wasn't my point. Did trump lie about punishing companies that move overseas?

"I'm going to do everything I can to unleash the power of the American spirit and to put our great people back to work," Mr Trump told a crowd of workers at the plant, with the presidential aircraft and the new Boeing jet behind him.

"This is our mantra: buy American, and hire American."

He repeated his campaign threat that any company that lays off American workers to move to another country will face a "substantial penalty" when trying to sell their products in the United States."

Mental TDS meltdown coming!

WARNING…….Trump Derangement Syndrome.…….WARNING! :rofl2:

Yep, I rode HDs for 40 years, and worked in HD dealerships for 5 years. I started noticing that in my 50's, I was about the youngest guy in the store. The customer base in the US is getting too old to ride. About four years ago, Polaris started making Indians again. Really nice bikes with an excellent proprietary engine. I've had 2 of them since and they're the best bikes I've ever owned. But I am 61 years old now, and I'm still one of the youngest customers in the dealership. I do hope Indian hangs in there for a few years though. It's gonna be rather tedious looking out the window of the retirement home at nothing but crotch rockets whizzing by.

My first bike was a used 64 panhead. Loved that bike.

Sorry, you can't fall back on Obama. trump promised to punish companies that moved jobs overseas.

HD planned to close this facility in 2015 when Obama was President. How can he not be brought up when the OP claims the move is being made because of the 2017 tax cuts? Did HD have insight no one else did and knew there would be tax cuts two years later?

Edit: This isn't blaming Obama it's strictly fact that this decision was made in 2015.

I don't recall any liberal angst when companies accepted tax cuts, rewarded shareholders, closed US facilities and moved production offshore between 2009 and 2016.

They aren't MOVING anything overseas. They are ADDING a plant overseas due to the high tariffs imposed by Asian countries you willful idiot.

Exactly, imported cars and motorbikes are extremely expensive in places like Thailand, Singapore and Vietnam. That's why many companies set up factories locally to avoid swingeing taxes.

Yes. Just because they made the decision in 2015 it doesn't have to do with Obama, does it?

So a decision was made in 2015 to close a plant and/or move it elsewhere -- like overseas. Then Drumpf gets selected by trumpeting, among other things, how he's going to promote a tax reform scheme to keep businesses here and punish those that ship out to other countries anyways. So he does 1) tax reform, but so far is silent on 2) punishing HD.

How is this connected to Obama in any way?
