Time for more "prayers and condolences"

I noticed that Krudzu seems to have ditched the "good plan and rationale".

Good plan.. and rationale..

Think so?

Sure they do, and will, but it isn't the street thug who is committing all these school shootings nor mass shootings, and with such as liability insurance and reregisteration you won't find as many stolen weapons out there

Hilariously naïve. Insurance and registration haven't stopped auto theft. What makes you think it would stop gun theft?

Kids illegally obtain drugs, tobacco products, alcohol, and stolen goods from "street thugs" every day. That may include guns. Your scheme can't prevent theft and criminal resale, can it?

And you enforce it the same way we enforce motor vehicle laws

Really? What's the probable cause for police checking to see if you have a gun, and if it's yours, and if it's registered, and if it's licensed and insured, and you are up-to-date on training?

That's a Fourth Amendment nightmare.

Not a single gun-grabber has been able to give a satisfactory answer to my questions.

Step up, gun-grabbers.

TIMMY!

The only purpose for the second amendment is to protect citizens from an oppressive government.
Waco proved that Citizens don't have the needed firepower to defend themselves from Government Goon Squads.
As my second grade teacher taught us: "It's not only your Right to overthrow an oppressive Government, it's you Duty".

You mean David Koresh Waco?

I mean the communal farm families that lived in Waco and were attacked by a Government Death Squad.
Apparently, the Goon Squad was surprised that Americans defended themselves from an unprovoked attack.
In response to American Citizens defending themselves, Battle Tanks and Helicopter Gunships were brought in.

I'm a little surprised you didn't hear about this in Saudi Arabia? (are you still using 'guno' as a sock puppet?)

Nearly anyone who wants a weapon can get one, check out Craiglst for weapons, hell, even an individual on a terror watch list can obtain one legally

My solution I've offered umpteen times, and I'll even give you a condensed version again, treat all guns as we do vehicles, they have to be registered and in time reregistered, you need a liscense involving training and a test, liability insurance is required on each weapon, etc.. Create common sense hurdles to weapons that create responsibility

Anticipating the next question, would it have stopped this shooting, perhaps if it was enacted five years ago, and it doesn't involve confiscating anything nor eliminate the supposed "right" to own a weapon, no right is absolute

Great idea register guns. That will stop kids using dad's legally registered guns to shoot up a school. And let's not forget those who don't plan on surviving their mass shooting plan, registering their guns will really help. No background checks and closing loopholes is the only realistic answer.

haha ... one of the things I remember from school. Usually they try to indoctrinate you to conform to the prevailing Government storyline, but this made me feel like an American. You, probably being from Canada, don't understand that.

American, southern, in fact. Canada is great though, it gave us so many comedy greats including my favorite show of all time, The Kids in the Hall.

When the kids father gets hit with astronomical insurance bills it certainly will remind the next father to better secure his toys

Why would you have to close loopholes if there are no background checks?

They want to "make it tough" on daddy, you know.

If it becomes tough on one daddy the next daddy will make damn sure his toys as secured so junior can't get access

It is common sense that if you create hurdles less people are going to spend the time, money and effort to build an arsenal.

Plus none of it may work, but any attempt merits consideration considering what we have now that is giving us a monthly school shooting. Better than your solution, more guns, as I've noted if that worked we should be the safest nation in the world by far considering the number of guns out there now

And I haven't seen any question you have ever raised

I'm probably way behind on this portion of the discussion but just saw the kid used two handguns. So the whole M.O. has been to ban assault rifles. Admittedly I don't know my guns all that well but I don't believe handguns qualify as assault rifles.

Not being a gun owner I don't know quite how this works. I assume one doesn't just leave their guns laying out at home. But I would also assume if you take them apart and store them it kind of defeats the purpose of having them for self defense. I can't imagine a robber/mugger being willing to wait while the owner assembles their gun to shoot at them.

How's that theory working with cars, since you think that's the model for gun control? Cars are registered and insured, and require training and a license, plus you need a key. Kids find ways to steal their parents cars and wreck them anyway.

You still haven't answered my questions. I think I know why.
