Did Trump back down?

Liberals aren't pissed about kids being detained. They are pissed about Trump ending Catch and Release. But, they can't be honest about that because they know Americans are against Catch and Release. The left as usual isn't being honest

Would you expect honesty from the left?

No, first you need to cite your source that 5,000 people committed crimes.

I cited my source that said an "estimated" 5,00 people absconded from ISAP or committed other crimes".

Although an estimated 5,000 immigrants absconded from ISAP or committed other crimes over the three-year period from 2010 to 2012, ICE often takes no action against these immigrants, primarily due to the lack of resources of ICE field offices to handle the rearrests of these individuals, as well as the inability to sustain such case-intensive monitoring services.

The growth of alternatives to detention has not resulted in—nor even accompanied—a decline in detention.

  • Rather, while funds for alternatives to detention have skyrocketed, so have funds for detention.
  • ICE’s budget for alternatives to detention grew from $28 million in 2006 to more than $114 million in 2016.
  • Over the same period, ICE’s detention budget more than doubled, increasing from $1 billion in 2006 to $2.3 billion in 2016.

almost looks like a magnet for more illegal immigration doesn't it?

Why do you think liberals aren't honest about their true motives with regards to illegal immigration?

It seems that ISAP isn't as well-regarded as some apparently want you to think

Many on-the-ground activists tell a different story.

Jeremy Jong, an immigration attorney, says that ISAP and detention go hand in hand. “Everybody knows somebody who was just living their life on ISAP and then got picked up, for something as little as ‘[the ankle monitor] ran out of batteries,’ or ‘the thing stopped working.’”

Marco Tulio Hernandez echoed Jong’s sentiment over the phone. When asked if he’d met anyone else in detention who’d been enrolled in ISAP, he replied, “There’s two people here in the room with me now.”

Alternatives to detention should prevent immigrants like Marco Tulio Hernandez from going through the physical and emotional tolls of incarceration.

But ISAP is just another part of an ever-expanding punitive immigration system.

Site, please, thanks

The site is this forum, it is watching the left still screaming and complaining on TV by moving the goal posts from keeping families together to not having these families detained at all.
If the left really cared about keeping families together they would get rid of the welfare system which essentially pays women to have kids and replaces the position of father...he's not needed anymore.

Why do you think liberals aren't honest about their true motives with regards to illegal immigration?

In my experience, liberals are seldom honest about many things.

I'm not convinced that a majority of them are capable of articulating their motives. Liberalism seems to me to be a hive mentality with little tolerance for individual questioning, dissent, or expression.

^Precious!

From a guy that just got his ass handed to him.

When Bush was POTUS, did liberals pretend to love ISAP?

Is seems that many may not have.

It also appears that once Obama took office, ISAP became "effective"...almost overnight, according to some.

Nazi code for: "you're right but I can't admit it because that would mean I've been bullshitting".

Think so?

I'm not familiar with "Nazi code;" is there a key somewhere people can reference, or it a blanket generalization you like to interject?
