August 2nd, 2013: Liberals assumed that Obama was denied service in a restaurant because of racism and were poutraged.
Doug Bradshaw answered the phone.
"Bea's Restaurant," he said. "Good afternoon." It was the U.S. Secret Service.
In 1950, Bradshaw's grandparents opened the Dodds Avenue restaurant that's become so beloved that, like Luther, it goes by only one name: Bea's. People eat there, for decades. A few summers ago, one couple flew in from Colorado ... just for lunch.
It's iconic. It's homegrown. Folks sop it up.
It's the perfect place for a visiting president to eat.
Cue the Secret Service phone call.
"They said the president was coming here on a Tuesday," Bradshaw said, "and wanted to know if the president could come eat lunch."
"I would have done it," said Bradshaw.
But?
"We are closed Monday and Tuesday," he said.
And that's just what he told the Secret Service.
Closed Tuesdays, every Tuesday, since 1964.
Then, as quickly as it began, the phone call ended. The Secret Service hung up.
"If it had been Wednesday, we would have loved for him to come," Bradshaw said.
End of story.
Right?
The phone call ended, but like heartburn, trouble followed. Word got out. People started chewing on assumptions and rumors, and with a little help from Internet gossip and Facebook, the story suddenly turned into this:
Bea's wouldn't serve lunch to the president.
"That's ridiculous," Bradshaw said.
In these awful days of social division, where we assume and predict the worst about one another, Bradshaw found himself in a hot mess of accusations: racist, political and more.
"It's not political and it's not racial," Bradshaw said. "It wasn't a refusal."
The Secret Service never asked if Bea's would open on Tuesday; like some jittery preteen, the agent hung up before Bradshaw could even suggest it.

This plays for her. It makes her seem sympathetic instead of a serial prevaricating spin doctor apologist for the biggest asshole ever.
That said, I couldn't serve her a wholesome meal either. Best she leave. I respect his personal decision to not serve this person.
Note the owner did not refuse to serve a type of person sweeping up a broad swath of people based on an irrational generalization, he refused to serve this particular human.
This particular person has no issue whoring her brainpower out to an evil villain and a stain on American history for centuries. This person is unworthy of anyone's
respect and I couldn't lift a finger for her.

I doubt the owner even realizes that her little liberal college town of Lexington is in the center of Rockbridge County, which went 62.4% for President Trump. The seven counties surrounding Rockbridge County all went over two thirds for Trump, with nearby Bedford county going 72.5% for Trump. I predict she’ll have a go fund me page and go out of business soon.

No, you can't, but nice try at painting Sanders as some pitiful victim, rather than the extremely well-paid shill that she is. You can still reject customers at your business as long as you are not doing it because they belong to a protected group of people. For instance, I can refuse to make a pair of swastika earrings for a customer because Nazis offend me. I can NOT refuse to make a pair of swastika earrings because the customer is black or other minority race, because of his/her gender, because of his/her religion. Sanders wasn't ejected because of her politics (not protected) or religion (it's doubtful she went in praying) or her gender. She was ejected because the owner is within his rights to choose to serve who he wants as long as he's not choosing on the basis of one of the protected attributes of that person.
In that case she's gonna need a loaded deck. I hate to agree with Lesion on general principles, but this time he is correct.

Um, no. A politician isn't covered under discrimination rulings. If the person kicked her out because she was doing the Rosary at the table, then you'd have something. Religion is free from discrimination, but it also can't be used to discriminate against others. You can't deny someone the same service you give everyone else, just because you don't like something about their existence. So skin color, sexual orientation, gender, etc, are all protected under anti-discrimination. Those laws were created back when bigots didn't want to serve colored people. Believe it or not, but the rule protects white people as well. A Black person, has to serve a white person. Of course you rarely have this as being an issue.
Yep, I'm fine with it. Now at least we know that it's OK businesses are allowed to be discriminatory, biased and can refuse to provide service to people based on race, religion, gender or political views...or even what job they have. It's a great day in America!

She did not get rejected service or booted from a restaurant based on gender. For being a female.
People object to her for being a lying, rightwing asshole. She has no control over being female She does have control over lying, and enabling an obese, racist pig. Lying is a choice.
