Yes- there are crackpots in abundance all over the place. Fortunately- and essentially- international law is the final arbiter of all territorial claims. ' Israel ' occupies Palestine illegally. Well over 130 countries have already recognized the Palestinian state on the pre-1967 borders- which includes East Jerusalem, of course. Trump ' recognizing ' all of Jerusalem as ' Israeli' is just one moronic and out-of-tune voice in the face of the orchestra of international law.
Despite full blanket US military and diplomatic support for ' Israeli' criminality over decades the law remains the same and ' Israel's' position as a legitimate state has deteriorated as a result of its scorn for the international community. Respect for the USA has nose-dived also. Giving ' Israel' billions of dollars every year and spending eye-watering billions more on the US military is not going to change the law nor the minds of the world's population. ' Israel' is a criminal state and the USA is its accomplice.
Jerusalem is international territory- all of it- as described under UNGAR Resolution 181 in 1947 and that's the legal position. Even an ethnically-cleansed Jerusalem full of neoZionist stormtroopers and crazed ' Jewish ' fanatics would not make Jerusalem ( al Quds ) ' Israeli'. ' Facts on the ground ' will never make for legal currency- otherwise anybody, anywhere could take over their neighbors property with impunity. The law matters to all of us- and ' Jewish ' criminals will never overcome it.
