"Getting along with Russia is a good thing - not a bad thing"

"the enemies of detente are everywhere" ( Cohen)...
you know your views are bad when you'd rather not talk, then continue Cold war 2

There is good diplomacy, and bad diplomacy.

It's dishonest to present those who don't want us to weakly cave to all of Putin's wishes as opposed to peace & détente, or in favor of another Cold War.

It’s not a parody.

The Left’s, overnight, 180 degree turn on Russia is one of the more remarkable about-faces in modern politics.

That's nothing more than projection. It was the right who criticized Obama for wanting to sing "Kum Ba Yah" with adversaries and tyrants, and who ALWAYS warned about how untrustworthy Russia was.

But where was this when Obama promised to be more flexible after reelection?

McConnell was calling the shots?Obama sounds weak.

Obama wanted to issue a joint statement so it wouldn't look like he was trying to sway the election in a political way. McConnell refused.

Then Obama had Comey investigate it, but Trump fired Comey.

You know it's bad when Conservatives are on internet message boards defending Vladimir Putin.

Horse hockey.

The Left mocked Romney for calling Russia our number one geopolitical foe. I’m not engaging in purposeful amnesia just so you goof balls can have your talking points.

idiotic. Nobody wants to"cave" to Putin.
"Bad diplomacy" is actually not talking - you and others want the countries to be in lock step hate.

Improving relations benefits everyone, including our current Cold war 2 posture.
You've become a Russiaphobe when you say a head of state meeting is bad diplomacy

It's not Russiaphobia when they have actually DONE something negative, and no one is talking about "lock step hate." You're the one fear-mongering w/ language like that and "Cold War 2." Most are just talking about sensible diplomacy, and at least pretending it means something when it's proven that an adversary has tried to exert a significant influence on your domestic politics.

After recent events & revelations, the timing is embarrassing and completely inappropriate.

It's just like w/ Kim - he's giving Putin EXACTLY what he wants, for free. Trump is weak.

But he's really tough w/ Canada. It's so impressive.

What recent developments do you speak of Thingy? What does Putin want exactly? Did he tell you?

And Obama wanted to go public, but McConnell refused.

And Obama directed Comey to investigate it, but then Trump fired Comey.

So how is this not your fault since your guys seemed to obstruct justice for this?

Obama takes orders from McCuntell? Really? Who knew?

So Obama was weak? Thanks for confirming

you are wondering all over the place. How can you improve relations as you say you want to,without a meeting?
There ARE NO LOWER LEVEL TALKS at all going on. yes relations are that sour.

Further you do not understand the increased weaponization pushed by both sides - we are talking permanent deployments in Finland. Talk of "Putin eyeing the Balkans" and a possible new permanent base in Poland.
If that isn't Cold War 2, I don't know what is..

Obama takes orders from McCuntell? Really? Who knew?

If Obama had made a statement by himself that Putin was attacking our country, McConnell and the Conservatives would have politicized it.

That was a calculation on Obama's part; I guess he didn't assume that the GOP would cozy up to Russia if they thought it would help them win the election. Obviously, we know that is the case today.

Does the phrase ‘the 80’s want their foreign policy back’ ring any bells?

So?

Are you honestly trying to compare the idea that Russia is no longer our top threat w/ the idea that they should still be treated as an adversary w/ ulterior motives?

It's not that complex, Darth. Nothing about that is contradictory in the slightest. It's just common sense, on both counts.

The lengths you guys go to in order to defend Trump - it's really amazing.
