"Getting along with Russia is a good thing - not a bad thing"

What you're saying is that you don't trust what our Intelligence Agencies say, and you're clinging onto a pretty weak qualifier to do that. It's obvious why.

What I'm saying is that I believe evidence. You apparently believe indictments and reports.

It's obvious why.

You fail again.

No proof, no truth.

Based on the evidence and intel they've collected, which you seem unable to refute other than along the lines you're doing here.

The burden of proof rests with the claimant.

They - and you - have to prove that the accusations are the truth.

You fail again.

No proof, no truth.

Now that we have a true conservative as president, Russia will be our true friend and we should forgive them and let go of the past -- and hopefully they will forgive us, but I don't blame them if they don't -- we may need to do more to earn their forgiveness #MAGA!!

How about we give Putin free rein in Europe up to the borders of the old Soviet Union? Maybe throw in Poland, too. Plus he can poison as many people as he wants in western Europe - after all, the EU is our foe. Would that do it?

Think so?

Indictments and reports informed by the collection of evidence.

You mean "informed by assessments", which led to judgments, don't you? "Judgments are not intended to imply that we have proof that shows something to be a fact.”

You fail again.

No proof, no truth.

Ya don't hear him saying that getting along with Iran is a good thing.

Ya don't hear him saying that getting along with Germany is a good thing.

Ya don't hear him saying that getting along with Britain is a good thing.

Ya don't hear him saying that getting along with France is a good thing.

Ya don't hear him saying that getting along with Mexico is a good thing.

Ya don't hear him saying that getting along with Canada is a good thing.

He only wants to make friends with somebody who has him by the you-know-whats.

Everybody else, he wants to push 'em around.

Now that he's the one getting pushed around he wants to be all lovey dovey.

I think he ought to write a book about it all - from a prison cell.

That's where he belongs.

He thinks he is buddies with Putin now?

The art of the kneel.

Trump backs NATO . he doesn't back EU tariffs. learn the difference

Obama: “There is no serious person out there who would suggest somehow that you could even rig America’s elections, in part because they’re so decentralized and the numbers of votes involved,” Obama said.

“There’s no evidence that that has happened in the past or that there are instances in which that will happen this time,” he continued. “And so, I‘d advise Mr. Trump to stop whining and go try to make his case to get votes.”

Roenweasel: There’s no allegation in this indictment that the Americans knew they were corresponding with Russian intelligence officers.

There’s no allegation in this indictment that any American citizen committed a crime. There’s no allegation that the conspiracy changed the vote count or affected any election result.

2009: Fawning reset button with Putin.
2012: Confidential promise of "flexibility" with Putin.
2014: De facto acceptance of Russia’s annexation of Ukraine’s Crimea.
2015: Nuclear deal reached with Iran over the protests of Netanyahu.
2015: Ordered America’s abstention from a UN Security Council resolution profoundly damaging to Israel
2015: The State Department paid $350k in taxpayers grants to an Israeli group that used the money to build a campaign to oust Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Israel's parliamentary elections.

And, John Brennan has no room to complain. He was the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency from March 2013 to January 2017.

Dec. 16, 2016 -

President Barack Obama said Friday that he told Russian President Vladimir Putin in September to “cut it out” in regard to allegations that his nation engaged in cyberattacks against the U.S. electoral process. Obama added that further hacking by Russia did not occur following Obama’s admonition.

By the time Obama and Putin met face-to-face, the Russian cyberattack against the Democratic National Committee had already occurred. Obama said that in speaking with his Russian counterpart, his goal was to prevent any attacks against actual election infrastructure.

“What I was concerned about in particular was making sure [the DNC hack] wasn't compounded by potential hacking that could hamper vote counting, affect the actual election process itself,” the president said at his end-of-year press conference. “So in early September when I saw president Putin in China, I felt that the most effective way to ensure that that didn't happen was to talk to him directly and tell him to cut it out and there were going to be serious consequences if he didn't. And in fact we did not see further tampering of the election process.”

(evidently Obama wasn't very effective)

Hang your hat on that, by all means.

It will not un-burn the life boat.

Maybe you missed today, but Trump's own DNI, Dan Coats, said "100%" that Russia attacked us.

But you're denying they did because...because...you don't want to admit you were wrong.

I could not be happier with the results of the Helsinki summit. all the noise about election meddling ( which has been hashed and re-hashed into recycled griping about Russian troll farms) ignores the US history of meddling in elections.
Bill Clinton basically engineered the Yeltsin re-election..
( but our national Russiaphobia prefers to ignore that)

Every worse was our fomenting a revolution on Putin's doorstep ( Ukraine).
John McCain and Vicky Nuland were there to make sure the Kyiv factions protest about Putin and Yanukovych gas deal went sour- not because it didn't benefit the Ukraine, but solely because it was a Putin/Ukraine deal..our complete disregard for the welfare of Ukraine was captured in Nuland's remarks of "f**k the EU"..

In order to understand Putin now, you have to understand how NATO expansion poisoned US/west/Russian relations.
James Baker promised we would not expand more then a reunited Germany
( 1989).
But Bill Clinton listened to the Russiaphobes, and Europeans who wanted expansion for economic reasons. If we had let Ukraine into NATO -as was wanted by many -we'd be at war with Russia now.

Indeed everything in east-west deals goes back to a previous set of circumstances..in short our intelligence agencies are extremely biased against Russia -after all the CIA was founded to contain the USSR. we still use that as a base point

Trump deserves a lot of credit to forging a path towards peace.
Our relations with Russia are so bad they are a new cold war.
we have too many problems we could solve by working together to get swept up in mindless jingoism
(Syria/Ukraine/north korea / terrorism)

Ignore the deranged Trump haters like John Brennan who call today's summit "treasonous" There is a path to peace even if it's a bumpy ride compared to the smoother glide path to inevitable war.

Trump went on TV today and said he trusts Putin more than our own intelligence agencies.

Trump is a traitor; anyone who defends him is a traitor.

We will define your legacy when this is all said and done; you will have no voice of your own.

Some of us are defending a "relationship" with Putin...you know...like Obama and Hillary did.
Also, it's already been proven that the 7th floor of our Intel agencies are not worthy of trust.
