US on track to borrow most money since 2008 financial crisis: report

That states raised the minimum wage during a period of growth and still had positive employment numbers doesn't disapprove it.

I'd say it completely disproves it.

You're saying it's not fair to use data from 13 states across the country that show improved job growth because the country was in a good place economically?!?

Notice how the qualifiers start creeping into your argument; "well, you can't accept that data from 2014 because the economy was doing well."

LOL! Priceless.

NO!

LIE!

WRONG!

Revenues were below 2000 levels from 2001-2004.

They had nothing to do with the tax cuts you ignoramus. That was due to recession and 9-11. Two tax cuts were passed in those years....revenues accelerated after 2005. I know you want lie and distort the facts to fit your lunatic point of view, but it is apparent this is way above your peter principle.

Revenues were below 1982 levels in 1983.

KS repealed their tax cuts in 2017 because they created massive deficits thanks to revenue declines. Once they did, their budget suddenly recorded surpluses.\

Everything you say is a lie.

LINK us up dumbfuck. That said, the Federal history doesn't support your lunatic assertions.

Of course you will, because you are mentally and physically unable to process information that runs counter to whatever narrow narrative you're trying to push on people.

States That Raised Minimum Wage See Faster Job Growth, Report Says
New data released by the Department of Labor shows that raising the minimum wage in some states does not appear to have had a negative impact on job growth, contrary to what critics said would happen.
In a report on Friday, the 13 states that raised their minimum wages on Jan. 1 have added jobs at a faster pace than those that did not.

Your own article states it doesn't show cause and effect.

Studies have shown for years who it hurts as did the recent Seattle study done by UDub.

Yeah, about that Seattle study...

The thing you leave out is that while fewer people were employed in low-wage jobs postMW hike, more people got employed at higher-wage jobs. Which suggests that raising the minimum wage had a net positive effect on employment as people moved from low-wage jobs to higher wage jobs.

The net effect was a gain in higher-wage jobs that came from a loss of low-wage jobs.

Now try to spin the growth of high-wage jobs at the expense of low-wage jobs as a liability...

Then why did even liberal economists say it doesn't show cause and effect?

No it doesn't.

In fact, it helps move people from lower-paying jobs into higher-paying jobs. So the net effect is that you end up with fewer people employed at lower-wage jobs because they got better jobs and/or higher pay. That's what happened when Seattle raised their MW; the number of people working at low-wage jobs dropped, and the number of people working at higher-wage jobs increased.

Seattle also has a lower unemployment rate than the rest of the country.

leave it to a liberal to soapbox a higher minimum wage argument.

The idea of minimum wage jobs is for it to be a beginning, young people to do menial jobs while educating themselves, or people temporarily using them as a stop-gap. It was never meant to be a living wage.
You do understand that concept? right?

That's not what the study showed. It costs jobs at the lower level and not because people were moving up. It's not like I'm stating something new that those at the margain get hurt

An argument isn't stupid because you disagree with it.

Except when they are stupid, which is the case with your argument.

I understand it can be disconcerting when facts get in the way of your preconceived notions.

This from the guy who refused to accept the data showing that when 13 states raised their MW, they saw faster job growth than the 37 who didn't.

See, someone thoughtful reading that would then adjust and change their argument because of new information. But you refuse to do that because you're a zealot, not a pragmatist. You are mentally, psychologically, and physically incapable of reconciling facts that run counter to your argument. And it is a fact that the states that raised their MW in 2014 saw faster job growth than states that didn't. Even Obama's own DoL was wrong about it. Which is why he changed his position on the MW and why the party now supports a $15/hr hike (which is still too low IMO).

That was a result of the recession Clinton handed Bush and 9-11 you brain dead chihuahua.

1. The 2001 recession didn't start until April 2001, three months after Bush had been President, and was so weak that GDP for 2001 was still positive. So there was nothing to recover from.
2. 9/11 had no material affect on the economy whatsoever. In fact, the DJIA recovered all their 9/11 losses by November 2001.
3. Bush had four years of shit growth before his housing bubble started. That's not because of a 6-month mild recession in 2001 that didn't even contract GDP for the year.

Except when they are stupid, which is the case with your argument.

I'll ask for a third time. Why did even liberal economists say it doesn't show cause and effect? Do you understand the concept? Are you familiar with correlation and causation?

his is nothing more than a massive lie. Deficits aren't caused by tax cuts you ignorant dullard; they are caused by spending MORE than you take in. During Obama's reign of ERROR there were no tax cuts and he continues spending far more than he took in.

Deficits are completely caused by tax cuts, and the people of Kansas learned that lesson first hand. That's why they voted to repeal the tax cuts last year. Once they did, their budgets suddenly went from massive deficits to massive surpluses:

StarkNumbers.jpg

Revenues increased from 2.105 trillion to 3.268 trillion during Obama's reign of ERROR you willful idiot. The deficit climbed exponentially. It has NOTHING to do with tax cuts you moron

WRONG!

The deficit DECLINED during Obama's 8 years.

FY Deficit (in billions)
2009: $1,412.7
2017: $665.4

At one point, Obama got the deficit down to just $438B in 2015.

You're conflating the deficit with the debt and you do that to try and spike the debate. You obviously know the difference between the deficit and debt, but you're deliberately pretending you're not right here in order to prolong this debate to try and make yourself look better than you actually are.

Weak sauce.

A recession and 9-11 caused that you dumbass.

The 2001 recession lasted from April to October and was so weak that GDP for 2001 didn't even decline.

So there was nothing to recover from since GDP was still expanding, even with a 6-month recession and 9/11.

Also, 9/11 didn't impact the economy in any meaningful way. The DJIA regained all its 9/11 losses by November 2001.

You're a fraud.

There you go with that boorish lie again.

Your guy Bush was the one who tied his tax cuts to the housing market:

Bush Ties Policy to Record Home Ownership
Touting his tax cuts as the economy's savior — and pointing to the strong housing market as proof — Bush said "more people own their own home now than ever." More than 50 percent of minorities owned their own homes in the last three months of 2003 for the first time ever, the president said.
http://www.foxnews.com/story/2004/03/26/bush-ties-policy-to-record-home-ownership.html

So there you have Bush saying his tax cuts were responsible for the strong housing market. Hence, his tax cuts are responsible for the housing crisis. That's what he campaigned on!

Thar she bloviates again!

Bush Ties Policy to Record Home Ownership

http://www.foxnews.com/story/2004/03/26/bush-ties-policy-to-record-home-ownership.html

Tax cuts responsible for housing market = tax cuts responsible for housing bubble.

Bush set four all-time high deficit records thanks to his tax cuts.

The deficits had nothing to do with tax cuts you willful idiot. They were the result of a recession, 9-11 and fighting the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

I do wish you had a brain and weren't a pathological liar.

Meanwhile; without a single tax cut, Obama managed to increase the deficits higher than all his predecessors combined. Dunce.

His final FY deficit in 2009 currently stands as the largest deficit of all time. Before that, he set a record deficit in 2003, 2004, and 2008.

That wasn't Bush's deficit you moron. Democrats controlled the purse strings from 2007 through 2010. It was under Obama's watch.

Also, for historical morons like you, there was never any budget submitted; everything the Democrats did were earmarks because they couldn't get a budget passed.

They are married to that dogma about tax cuts now. They've become zealots.

You've become a boorish moron on steroids.

Of course you will, because you are mentally and physically unable to process information that runs counter to whatever narrow narrative you're trying to push on people.

Obama era bullshit. Spare us please. Arbitrary minimum wage laws do not raise incomes. They create false economies and inflationary pushes on the economy as well as layoffs. That is why the Obama reign of ERROR had so much malaise.
