District Court Judge Dabney Friedrich rejected an attempt to have special counsel Robert Mueller removed from the Russia investigation.

Attorneys for Russian oligarch-owned Concord Management and Consulting LLC, which has been indicted by Mueller, recently argued in court that the special counsel’s appointment is unconstitutional because he was not appointed by the president or attorney general.


[FONT=&quot]But in a 41-page ruling released on Monday, Dabney rejected the defendant’s argument.

Point-by-point, Dabney dismantled Concord Management’s attack on Mueller. According to the judge, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein acted properly when he appointed Mueller because Attorney General Jeff Sessions had recused himself from the investigation.

The decision makes Dabney, who was appointed by President Donald Trump, the fourth judge to uphold Mueller’s appointment.

District Court Judges T.S. Elliot, Amy Berman Jackson and Beryl A. Howell have all previously rejected attempts to undermine Mueller’s investigative powers.

At any time Trump has the power to remove Mueller. His position is not enshrined by law, he serves at the pleasure of someone who serves at the pleasure of the president. There's a reason Trump does not do this.

wrong. The only one who can fire him is Rosenstein. Sessions is recused. Trump may be able to fire Rosenstein and insert a Trump lackey in his place who will do it. This might wind up like Nixons Sat night massacre. But Trump does not have that power.
 
The ReTrumplicans did not understand the issue... They just screamed that the prosecutions would end, because they wanted the investigation to be illegal.

I fought with idiots for days on here who claimed that the investigation was illegal, it is not.

Of all the DUMBASS things to argue, that seems like the dumbest! Or is it just the 4th Hail Mary Pass and they think the ball COULD land in the "Right" judge's hands?

(OK, maybe not the best sports metaphor, but not the worst)
