No idea but I have seen that statue more times that I imagine most of the people outraged over it, walked directly past it multiple times, and I always assumed it was a revolutionary war memorial of some sort.

They could have just changed the plaque to honor the revolutionary war and nobody would have been any the wiser and it would have been a lot cheaper. Who should they put up a statue to replace Sam with? Mohammed Reza Taheri-azar perhaps whose idol Mohamed Atta inspired him to carry out a nearby terrorist vehicle attack in Chapel Hill running down Americans as punishment. The irrational left is all about rectifying oppression and all so he should be on your short list at the very least.

Those damn oak trees rain down acorns the size of boulders, or at least that is how they feel when they crack you in the noggin. They are massive and pruned up so those missiles reach terminal velocity before impacting your skull with a force similar to the meteor that killed the dinosaurs.
