“United States-Mexico Trade Agreement.”

I remember you changing your personal story multiple times in order to make yourself look better than you actually are.

Fact is you're a fraud who postures on message board to feel better about himself.

You've made that silly accusation several times now, and could easily use the search function to document any evidence of this, yet you can't because it does not exist: another fail for you. Perhaps you should just hang yourself now to avoid any further embarrassment.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but trade agreements are simply agreements setting tariffs.......under the constitution, tariffs are set by the executive branch of the government, not the legislative branch......

He will be gone eventually.

The question will be what to do with his cult after.

You seem to be changing your story now. Before you said that he's be removed.

We know what will happen.

Once Trump is removed from office...

See how easy it is to document when someone changes their story? If I can do it to destroy you, why can't you do it to destroy me? We both now why, because my assertions have not changed as you continue to claim.

There is no strategy here. Just like there was no strategy with pulling out of TPP.

Withdrawing from NAFTA immediately weakens the US' bargaining power, as there's nothing to stop Canada and Mexico from forming a new trade bloc with Central American, South American, and/or Caribbean nations, thereby isolating us.

Anyone who thinks this is a good idea is a 100% certifiable moron.

FYI noise and anatta are the same person.

When he gets his ass kicked he changes user names.......and believe me, you're kicking his ass.

Obama accomplished quite a lot and Conservatives have been unable to undo most of it...having to rely on a conman from reality television to tell you what you want to hear.

BTW - the Russia Tax Cut was supposed to increase incomes by $4,000-$9,000.

It didn't.

Now the Russia Tax Cut is less popular than Obamacare.

It didn't increase your income that much, but that's because you don't make much to begin with. My guess is that you're on a fixed income, collecting some type of welfare. Me? I've done very well because of it. But being self-employed with a high degree of variability from year-to-year it's difficult to say exactly how much better.

This Mexico thing is just a Trump deflection about the Mccain funeral. Trump has a stash of crazy things to trot out when he gets caught doing the things he does. There is no agreement. Of course, he floundered when he was talking about it too.
He has no idea about anything that is going on around him, he is one of the least qualified presidents ever elected to office. It’s embarrassing.

This reminds me a lot of when Trump boot-lickers were popping the champagne bottles and spiking the ball in the end zone prematurely over the North Korea festivities. There was even talk of Nobel Prizes for Trump!

I have not followed this closely, but my guess is that Trump will settle for a few tweaks on paper that don't really amount to much substantively, just so he can claim to have a "victory".

I mean, that basically is his gig - to sell crappy shit, whether it be frozen steak products, real estate schools, or subpar vodka.

Trump says he's ditching NAFTA but that's not what's happening

Washington (CNN)To hear President Donald Trump tell it on Monday, the United States is abandoning the NAFTA free trade deal between the US, Canada and Mexico in favor of a bilateral agreement between the US and Mexico. And possibly a second bilateral deal with Canada.

Trump even gave the bilateral agreement a name: the "US-Mexico Trade Agreement," which he said would replace the trilateral free trade deal.
But none of that is happening.

There is no formal free trade deal between the US and Mexico, only an agreement between the two countries on how to resolve key issues in their trade relationship as part of the NAFTA talks. The US trade representative's office officially described the agreement as "a preliminary agreement in principle ... to update the 24-year-old NAFTA with modern provisions representing a 21st century."

Made for TV moment

The "US-Mexico Trade Agreement" does not exist -- and likely never will.

"We hope that Canada can join in now and we expect them to begin that process very soon," the US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer said on a call with reporters after Trump's announcement. A senior White House official added that Canada would be brought in to the trade discussions on Monday afternoon.

None of that stopped Trump from giving the impression on Monday morning that he was "terminating" NAFTA "and going into this deal" with Mexico. He even added later in the day that he had "just signed a trade agreement with Mexico," which cannot happen without the US first nixing NAFTA.

The agreement between the US and Mexico on Monday was a significant marker in the yearlong effort to renegotiate the trilateral trade pact, sweeping away key obstacles impacting the US and Mexico that had held up trilateral talks.

But Trump was eager to portray the agreement as much more than that as the reality TV star-turned-president orchestrated the latest made-for-TV moment of his presidency.

US softens its demand for NAFTA 'sunset clause': Mexican official

The United States has softened its contentious demand for a NAFTA "sunset clause," Mexico's incoming trade negotiator said on Saturday, potentially eliminating a key obstacle to reaching a deal next week to revamp the trade pact.

A few hours earlier, President Donald Trump tweeted that the United States could reach a "big Trade Agreement" with Mexico imminently.

Jesus Seade, designated chief negotiator of Mexico's next government, told reporters the new U.S. position would allow a periodic review of the North American Free Trade Agreement, but without an automatic expiration unless renegotiated every five years.

"It's going to come out. It's no longer what the United States was putting first in any way," Seade said of the sunset clause outside the U.S. Trade Representative's office.

The United States and Mexico have been holding bilateral talks aimed at resolving differences in the NAFTA renegotiation before bringing Canada back to the talks as they push for an agreement-in-principle by the end of August.

Trump tweeted on Saturday morning that the United States' "relationship with Mexico is getting closer by the hour. Some really good people within both the new and old government, and all working closely together....A big Trade Agreement with Mexico could be happening soon!"

The U.S. sunset clause demand has been one of the biggest roadblocks to NAFTA deal since it was first proposed in October 2017. It was meant by the Trump administration as a mechanism to force a renegotiation of NAFTA every five years if the new terms failed to foster more balanced trade between the three countries. If new terms could not be reached, NAFTA would die.

Color me not-surprised that Trump's naïve fan-boys exaggerated, blustered, and prematurely spiked the ball in the end zone for something that really is not more than just Kabuki theater.

A year of concessions to get Mexico to come to the table, when it has no reason to do so.

So that means we must have given up something pretty fucking huge to get Mexico to engage us on NAFTA when they don't have to even take our call.

So what did we give up? No one knows.
you simply do not know what you are talking about with "concessions". The biggest concession
( trade off in negotiations terms) I can find is on the sunset provision -that actually improves it.

Also Mexico committed to buying more agriculture/yarn/wheat.
also more North American contents keeping Chinese parts out

THERE IS NOTHING MORE TO NEGOTIATE IN THE BI-LATERAL !! this is it.
++

Now when Canada comes in - there has to be any accomodations,, but....try to follow this..
the provisions already settled wit Mexico remain settled.

To be clear that mean the sunset.content, wages, and agricultural are pretty much set unless Canada balks

++

the reason this was done this way is that initial 3 way talks had way to many US/Mexican problems to work out.
So Canada went to the sidelines while this bi-lateral was negotiated.

Now that this is done -all that needs to be done is to get Canada to go along.
ALL INDICATIONS IS THAT CANADA IS EAGER TO GET It DONE AS WELL

^Article is 2 days old. the sunset has been settled.
16year term with a review in 6 years, and then it can be extended for another 16 years.
Or it can just go to the 16 years term and be renewed/cancelled.

This is a much better way then what Trump wanted.
His 5 year review was a bad idea -too much uncertainty for business to commit to long term deals when the framework

He has no idea about anything that is going on around him, he is one of the least qualified presidents ever elected to office. It’s embarrassing.
he was smart enough to separate out the US/Mexican negotiation from the initial 3 way that had 1000 moving parts. (people all trying to negotiate at once

Now that the bilateral is done ( not signed -but negotiated) it's much easier to bring Canada in..

Apparently Trump knows a few things about trade and negotiations here

you should follow before you post. This is a significant rework > i gave a few reasons why.

Further this doesn't depend on the whim of NK. Trump/Lighthizer control their own outcomes

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but trade agreements are simply agreements setting tariffs.......under the constitution, tariffs are set by the executive branch of the government, not the legislative branch......
there is much more here then tariffs. Just like NAFTA was much more then tariffs

Of course, all that can get tossed out the window the minute NAFTA re-negotiations actually start.

I would take with a grain of salt anything Trump tells you about complex trade deals that he doesn't understand.

And BTW - the only wages that were raised were those of workers who build vehicles in factories...to a measly $16/hr (UAW workers already get above that and have since 2007). But since most of those workers are replaced by robots, it's meaningless. Like I said...paper-thin on details and completely misrepresenting the situation. Wages aren't going up. Wages for just factory workers who build cars go up...but only to $16/hr, which is what UAW workers start at and have since 2007.. So no American wages are increased, just Mexican ones. So that was a concession we made. What did we get in return? Nothing other than a soft commitment to engage in negotiations for a new deal.
OMG.
The fact Mexican workers wages went up means that Mexican cheap labor is no longer available.

Higher wages for Mexico is good -do I need to list the reasons why? no more offshoring auto manufacturing jobs to Mexico for cheap labor.

also there are a lot of US car makers that are not UAW/union
