But that's what happened after Bush the Dumber.

Conservatives who supported Bush for 8 years suddenly pretended as if they never heard of him. They thought stapling a few teabags to their faces and pretending to care about debt and deficits (caused by the policies they supported during Bush) would be accommodated. And it was, to the country's detriment. There would have been no teabags without the Bush the Dumber voters who were embarrassed and looking to recast themselves.

Then they did it again in 2015 when, after achieving nothing with the power they got, they took the teabags off and put on red hats. Suddenly, the teabags all disappeared and were strangely replaced by MAGAts.

And they'll do it again after Trump.

Only this time, the accommodations won't be there.

Any one of thousands of SES level government employees in the ‘Trump administration’ could technically qualify as a ‘senior administration official’.

SES signifies Senior Executive Service.

Not like it’s beneath the dignity of the NYT to purposefully mislead the gullible lemmings into thinking ‘omg, it could be Pence!’ when it fact the ‘senior administration official’ is no one anyone has heard of. Or it could be a total fabrication—and the latter wouldn’t surprise me one bit.

Regarding the Deep State: any cabal of government employees or appointees that conspires against a sitting president or sets an agenda apart from the president’s agenda is a ‘hidden government’ or Deep State.’

Whether it’s within the IC or elsewhere is irrelevant.
