The FBI does do background checks of Judicial nominees.

However, I doubt the FBI will spend much time on this, as this is a total he-said-she-said incident that happened a long time ago when Kavanaugh was a minor.

But, it is an allegation that Kavanaugh should be questioned about by the Congressional Approval Committee just to hear what he has to say about it on his own behalf. And you can trust me on this- He will give you one of those Donald Trump smirks and simply deny it!

I think this is only a brief and minor delay to him being approved by the Republicans.
