Like aren't these guys who are chest thumpers constantly looking for the US to be respected? Didn't you completely defund Palestine because you are under the impression that their people don't like America enough?

There is a procedure among nations that are friendly and respect each other to handle these things. When a problematic person is resident in and under the implicit protection of one nation, and another nation dislikes that. Saudi Arabia would charge him with a crime, and demand the US stop shielding him and return him to Saudi Arabia. Or otherwise, present the US with his list of crimes, the evidence, and ask the US to prosecute it themselves.

So, again, this guy is a legal resident of the US, and a journalist at one of our newspapers, and so is under the implicit protection of the US. Saudi could have handled it as above, if they respected us. Instead they... sent a hit squad to dismember him alive in some Turkish consulate. That is not an action that a nation that respects another one takes. A nation that does that respects the other nation about as much as their dog, and clearly does not fear them at all.

I'm sad to say, but it appears that the lack of regard that Saudi Arabia seems to be showing the US here looks like the rational level. They do not have to respect or fear the US, clearly they've bought off enough people in the administration by now that we're their bitches. And I imagine they know that.

No, he isn't. We have no jurisdiction in Turkey, and no national interest at stake in this matter.

It didn't happen in a Turkish consulate dumbass, he was killed in a Saudi Arabian consulate in Turkey. How dumb does one have to be to antagonize the Saudis and then fly back to the ME and walk into their consulate? Pretty fucking dumb, that's the answer.

He was not a US citizen and once he leaves our country what the fuck are we supposed to do? Had he been killed here I'd say yeah, light the Saudis up but he went to them. I don't feel sorry for him.

Yes- and oil aside - it is the US obsession with supporting Izrael which enables the Sauds to mock the US, international law and our moral standards openly. The House of Saud has long paid lip service to the plight of Palestine and the West tolerates its excesses for precisely that reason. Izrael is the rot which enables such tyranny- and it has become fascist under our noses yet STILL receives blanket support. That can only mean that the scourge of fascism has infected our own administrations.
Those that would give the Sauds a pass for their brutality are also those who encourage the creeping disease of neoZionism. Watch.
