I'm sure most people on the right and the left do not want violence. But I cannot agree with the statement that everybody wanted him caught. I am absolutely certain there are plenty of extreme radicals on the right who are praising this guy, and wishing that all the bombs would have found their targets, believing the nation would be better off if all of the potential victims died.

Just because he imagined himself some great defender of Trump and made that attempt, doesn't mean he knew what the hell he was doing. Would he have been more believable if even one of those bombs had gone off and hurt or murdered anyone? Do you need to see blood before you believe?

No. That is not typical. Good people on both sides do not want violence. The reality is (very fortunately!) that most people are good. Always remember that. We rarely hear about the good ones. Being good is not newsworthy. The news focuses on the bad. Bad is newsworthy. Good is boring, doesn't sell advertising. Shock factor gets attention, sells product. Smiles and hugs are not attention-getting. That's too natural. Sad, but that's just the way it is.
