"We are the only nation with birthright citizenship" - another lie

I'm not surprised that the yo-yos in this thread don't understand the difference between birthright citizenship to those who are in a country "legally" vs being here "illegally", hence the term anchor baby.

Think nut-bags, when you read something, instead of knee jerk reaction based on being in a highly triggered state of mind 24-7,
relax, breath, and think about what he is saying, context. Then take a few minutes and form a thought.

I come here actually looking for intelligent discussion, debate, keep an open mind and expand my thought process.

North America, most of Central America and South America have birth right citizenship.
Most of Africa, Russia, Europe and the Middle East do not have birth right citizenship.

But they all have specific reasons, disclaimers, qualifiers, exemptions, rules, etc.
It's NOT just show up, give birth and bingo...the kid's a citizen.

Have a literate person read the 14th to you. It is silent on the citizenship of the parents.

He's saying we seem to be the only country where people think that all you have to is show up, give birth, and you're an instant citizen.
All those other countries have rules, laws, etc. forbidding "instant" citizenship.
In that sense he is correct because some people here don't understand that we actually have some rules and laws regarding citizenship and naturalization as well.

Children of diplomats do not get American citizenship.



In any case, the abomination, Donald Trump, said, "WE ARE THE ONLY NATION...blah, blah, blah"...

The 14th confers citizenship on a baby born here. It does zero for the parents. They can be sent away immediately. If the baby wants to bring over its parents, it can do so in 21 years.
