Saudi Arabia's leading government-financed think tank is looking into the possible effects on oil markets of a breakup of OPEC.

The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, founded in 1960, coordinates petroleum prices among producers and maintains a regular supply to consumer nations.

However, in a remarkable move for a country which has dominated oil exportation for 60 years, a study into the cartel's dissolution has been demanded by top Saudi officials who see it as a high priority economic-policy.

There was NEVER any British presence in Saudi Arabia. By 1916 Ibn Saud has already chased most of the Turkish garrisons off the Arabian Peninsula.

As for Abdelaziz Ibn Saudis return from Kuwait.. He had 19 young men with him when they took Riyadh.

The British tried to undermine the US -Saudi relationship for 25 years after the were shut out of the oil concession.

no, actually I was thinking about the oil producing countries getting together every year and setting production limits.....but then if you weren't a committed lib'rul cunt nobody would have needed to explain that to you....

Zaki Yamani came to my house for dinner a few times.. OPEC was pretty successful in maintaining steady supply and cost.. which is very helpful to the rest of the world.

Yamani was a smart man.. and a charming gentleman.. He was very kind to my mother.


My father like an admired him as well. He was very pro-American unlike Tariki who was fired and went to work for Gaddafi.
