Will the Republican party survive Trump?

you should look at China's WTO violations

EU launches WTO case against China’s unfair technology transfer
http://trade.ec.europa.eu/doclib/press/index.cfm?id=1852

European companies coming to China are forced to grant ownership or usage rights of their technology to domestic Chinese entities and are deprived of the ability to freely negotiate market-based terms in technology transfer agreements.

This is at odds with the basic rights that companies should be enjoying under the WTO rules and disciplines, in particular under the Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS Agreement).

The case initiated today by the EU targets specific provisions under the Chinese regulation on import and export of technologies (known as "TIER") and the regulation on Chinese-foreign equity joint ventures (known as "JV Regulation") that discriminate against non-Chinese companies and treat them worse than domestic ones.

These provisions violate WTO obligations to treat foreign companies on an equal footing with domestic ones, and to protect intellectual property like patents and undisclosed business information.

If consultations requested today do not reach a satisfactory solution within 60 days, the EU will be able to request that WTO sets up a panel to rule on the matter.

While the EU's request is similar to the one brought recently to the WTO by the US, it also identifies further potential violations of WTO rules.

You notice Trump isn't waiting around for some kind of WTO 'Rulings'. I think that is what Corporate America likes about Trump, he goes in there and starts kicking over the tables of the 'status quo' when it comes to China (and other countries).

Let's see if Trump 'brings home the bacon', or just brings home a 'nothing burger'.

China has their little attack dog, North Korea on a leash, ... Trump has some balls just starting to fuck with China. You have to give him a little credit just for that.

The Republican party is gone. Trump walked in and killed it. Ryan fled and McConnell hid. They do not stand up to him at all. His craziness about the military is just accepted. Trump is the right now. The Republican party is dead. The deciding factor in red circles is how Trumpian are you. Insufficient Trumpiness results in defeat and Daffy ridiculing you.
Trump beat all the party regulars in the primaries. He drove Bush out easily and he is the establishment Repub. He slapped Cruz around, like a child. Raphael was supposed to be the power of the future Repubs. Rubio, Florina, Kasich all bullied off the stage. Without Trump, they have nobody.

His charm, his popularity, his brashness, his defiance, ... who knows?

He's captured the admiration of the conservative Flag Wavers ...

He's an ignorant, unprincipled con man, more than likely sociopathic, with a following of dupes and cultists.

If that's the basis for a Third Party, God help America.

The Republican party took a real risk hitching itself to the Trump clown car... they've lost a lot of support among key groups like suburban women.. Trumps base is shrinking as poor working class whites realize they've been anally violated once again .. what do you see as the future for the republican party as it alienates hispanic immigrants and the white population ages and shrinks?

Did the Democratic Party survive Obamunism?

It's not just corporate America; unfair trade barriers hit all segments of the economy -
although yes -corporate more.

China is cheating on UN sanctions against NK -one very BIG REASON kim is recalcitrant on denuke

China's economic planning ( they are essentially a planned economy) is dependent on Made in China 2025
as well as Xi's political future as "president for life"

that's why it's so difficult to get negotiations moving, but we simply have to check Chinese hegemony and cheating

Trump is hurting the party. That's pretty obvious. This blue wave happened with the economy doing well. The only reason for it was Trump.

There was no blue wave you willful idiot. Unless you want to call the trouncing Obama got in 2010 and 2014 a RED TSUNAMI. I guess it wasn't Obama's fault for losing so much right snowflake? He was loved by EVERYONE!

Heil Trump and all Nazi farts! You wouldn't know anti-Semitism if it bit you, Goebbels.

No one is voting Republican because their ideas have any merit (they don't); anyone still voting Republican does so because they're racist. Full stop.

It looks like it's transformed itself into a alternate Third Party. A Party that is breaking ALL the Rules. Trump, the inexperienced 'Politician', is telling people what they want to hear and running the Government in an unconventional way. Some people think it is a breath of fresh air. A Revolution if you will.

After all the Chaos, all the 'Bull in a China Shop' antics, all the 'Scandals', ... if Trump is still around in 2020 and wins the Presidency, ... there WAS a Revolution and all the rest of us missed it.

Who looks at this chaos and thinks "ah, what a breath of fresh air"?

Anyone voting Republican does so because they're racist. The reason is that Republican policy lacks merits, and they know that. So they run on race and fear-mongering because they can't run on policy success.

Revolution is upon us lol.

And there’s not one but two of them. The Trumpist revolution is more talked about but Democrats have their own—and it’s being led by radicals. For all the blather about chaos under Trump, impending dictatorship, assinine Hitler comparisons and etc, Trump’s policies are pretty conventional.

Trumps nationalism is nothing more than putting the country’s interest ahead of global interests. That’s not radical—it’s fricking common sense. US foreign diplomats did that until after WWII. Tax cuts, yawn. Installing conservative justices to the bench has been on the Never Trumper wish list since Reagan but establishment republicans like Bush and co were too ineffectual to get it done. Trump is an unconventional politician with conventional ideas.

Democrats on the other hand—especially the new crop of them, are out of the closet socialists. I read where the House is going to change a 150 year old rule to enable their new Muslim congresswomen to wear their religious headdress.

Anyone paying attention knows who the revolutionaries are and where the actual revolution is occurring.

Les than a month after Trump is gone, Darth here will be struck with the same case of amnesia that struck him after Bush the Dumber. So we will get another re-brand from them. But it's probably not going to work this time, since you rebranded twice in 10 years; first to teabags, then to MAGA.

Interesting we have millions of racist blacks, Hispanics and Asians in this country. Why don't they listen to progressive white males and not be racist?

Everything about the Republicans as they now are suggests they are living before the Civil War. Better beat 'em again (Yes, I know they switched names) and get on with life. Seems to me that, as with our currently insane Tory party, something will probably survive of the Republicans, because of the historical connexions of the name. People get used to these things, like 'nations'.

The part of the GOP that will survive will be the racist part; that's only because none of their policy has any merits or successes they can run on.

I think you're right. It'll take more than a single anomalous leader to cause realignment. Especially if Trump loses the primary in 2020, or even the general election, the likelihood is the GOP will snap back to something like its traditional positioning. If, however, the next Republican leader is also in the style of Trump (e.g., a white nationalist and protectionist), it probably signals a realignment.... one that seems likely to be good for the Democrats for quite some time. Remember, the GOP was shut out from the presidency for 20 years, before Eisenhower, and the Democratic Republicans once had a lock on the presidency for 28 straight years, so the recent frequent back-and-forth is hardly guaranteed.

Ummm...the GOP has always been like it is under Trump. The difference is that Trump is overt. When it comes down to it, the GOP platform has remained unchanged since 1980 (except being friendlier to Russia).

They are going to try and "snap back" to what? Bush Republicans? Weren't Bush Republicans just a retread of Reagan Republicans? How has the party changed since 1980?

It can't "snap back" to something it never was.

"Snap back" means rebrand. And they exhausted their re-brands when they stapled teabags to their faces, then when they took those teabags off and put red hats on.

You can polish a turd, but it's still a turd.

I agree.

The big unscrupulous thing is the transfer of 'Trade Secrets'. You can go to Saudi Arabia and open up a McDonalds and the Prince just wants a 'piece of the action' or some kind of 'kick-back'. He just wants some money.
When you go to China, they want you to merge with a local Chinese Company or divulge your operations to a local Chinese Company so it can go into business and compete with you. Then, once the Chinese Company is up and running, the Chinese Government helps the Chinese Company outcompete the original company.
It's a very deliberate and calculated process meant NOT to benefit a local 'Prince', but to help the Chinese as a Nation. Nationalism at it's best.

Personally, ... I think they are still pissed off about the silk worm. :|

Trump is a populist.. they either change the dynamics for good, or get ground down by da establishment

No, he's a wannabe fascist, constrained only by the Democratic Congress. The GOP would let him declare himself Furher because they love him so much.

Don't believe Conservatives when they say they oppose Trump; they're the ones who voted for him.
