If it had been publicized - like the reopening of the Clinton email inquiry - who knows what might have happened? But it wasn't. That suggests to me that the IC was playing it by the book.

Was Eisenhower delusional? He warned about the Military-Industrial Complex in his farewell address. The Deep State is merely the logical extension of that, some will try to tell you that the Deep State is a figment of the febrile imagination of conspiracy theorists. But Eisenhower was no conspiracy theorist.

Bugger texts. What did Strzok or any of the others do to stop Trump or even inconvenience him? Did they leak anything about the investigation to the "fake news media" before the election? Did they uncover Trump's secrets by "spying on his campaign" and pass it on to the DNC? NO, they played it by the book.

Who can deny that the ‘military industrial complex’ has guided US foreign policy over the past decades? Ironically, both sides believe this to one extent or another and only disagree on the extent policy has been influenced or even directed by a ‘deep state’ within the government.

Checks and balances within our government are there *for the precise reason* to prevent unelected enitities from wielding unauthorized power over citizens. The ‘deep state’ is an ever present threat to democracy—and it’s not even debatable.

With reference to Russia Gate the ‘deep state’ is comprised of a cabal of individuals within the DOJ who were compromised by animus towards the president. Some were fired for it and at least one of them will likely be indicted.

There’s your ‘deep state’. The only question is whether they were acting alone—or not. Further investigation is required.

Cheney was hired by Haliburton to lobby for lifting sanctions against Iraq, Iran, Libya and the Stans.. Is that "deep state"?

They were clearly mistaken about Papadopoulos, and what ‘sources and methods’ were there besides the strange professor Milfud or whatever his name is.

Put the damn the cards on the table already. And I’m suspicious about the timing of Assange being shut down. They slipped up and leaked his sealed indictment so charge him, offer him immunity and let him spills his beans. I’ll guarantee Assange knows more about Russians and the election than Manafort ever did.
