I am saying that the American South (a place that has been dominated by American conservatives since before Civil War Days)...

...was solidly Democratic in its voting habits from Civil War days until sometime after LBJ managed to get the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964.

I am not saying that EVERY American living in the South was a conservative back then...nor am I saying that EVERY American living in the South voted Democratic. I am not saying that the day after the Civil Right Act passed...that the voting pattern of the south changed instantly...you fucking moron. I am not saying that the Democratic Politicians of the South abandoned the Democratic Party at that point. (It was to the advantage of most to remain Democrats and keep advantageous legislative positions.)



I am saying that the American South has been the bastion for American conservatism since Civil War times...and continues to be today...and that today, the American South has been the most reliable voting bloc for the Republican Party.



I do not give a flying fuck what you want me to do...because I think you are an exceptionally unintelligent person attempting to discuss an issue you are compulsively, albeit ill-equipped, to do.

Or is there? Article IV provides that “new States may be admitted by the Congress into this Union”—including from the territory of an existing state, if its legislature consents. Five states were created in this manner: Vermont from New York (1791), Kentucky from Virginia (1792), Tennessee from North Carolina (1796), Maine from Massachusetts (1820) and West Virginia from Virginia (1863).

Technically only 4 of them were created in that manner. West Virginia was an end-run around the constitution by declaring the part of the state that wanted to break off the only legitimate Virgina government and ignoring that as such, constitutionally a state voting to succeed from itself wasn't really kosher. The real Virginia legislature never consented to its formation.
