Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) is among the conservatives slamming the Trump Administration’s announcement that the U.S. is about to pull out of Syria.

Following President Donald Trump‘s claim that ISIS has been defeated in Syria, the White House says the military is taking quick action to withdraw 2,000 American service members from the region. Not everyone is convinced this is a good idea, however, and Rubio is among those who believe the pullout is a “colossal mistake” and a “grave error.”

The Florida Senator added, on Twitter, that he believes the move is a “major blunder” which will “haunt” the Trump administration.

Syria is a Russian client state. They upgraded ( in process) Tartus into full drydock facilities - a real naval base.

They can have it and Hmeimim Air Base too. They have been helping out Libya as well since we destroyed their country.

I got no problem with Russia in the ME backing Assad either ( best of bad choices)
 
We were never in Syria to prevent Russian influence, that would be a bold and unwise move.
We were there to fight ISIS, and protect civilians, neither of which Obama was doing a very good job of.

Trump did both, time to come home

Enlighten me. Why do we have troops in Syria?
If our military says we have done all we can against Islamic State why would you believe we need to be there.
