It's a fence.

But Trump is a con man and a manipulator. He knows that the word that really titillated xenophobes and "very fine" Nazis is "wall". That is a powerful word that conjures up powerful images. The Berlin Wall would simply not have had the same physical and ideological impact if it were the Berlin Fence. The Great Wall in China would simply not have the impact as "The Great Fence".

Trump's boot licking sychophants are easily manipulated by words and xenophobic lexicon and imagery. And I give con man Trump credit that he knows how to manipulate these rubes.

From an ecological perspective, I think a slotted fence makes a lot more sense. The US-Mexico border is an artificial human construct that migrating animals, ecological systems, biodiversity, and habitat simply do not recognize. A barrier like a wall would actually be an ecological catastrophe.

Trump was offered $20 billion for his wall in a bipartisan bill if he passed DACA, now he is down to $5billion and having a hard time getting that! What a deal he made.
