Trump pulls out of Syria

WTF? lol since when were we supposed to "secure Syria".. this post is gibberish
Quit being an idiot, brokeback. Bush had troops helping from the East in Iraq, and Obama and Trump put troops into Syria, and everyone failed. ISIS and Al Quada is still there in the east and northeast and will bounce back up like puppets from hell. However, we never ever should have had troops there.

If Russia had much influence in Syria, why didn't they help Assadfrom 2005 to 2011?

A big part of why Putin supports Assad is because some of our foreign policy geniuses have called for regime change in Syria. Putin isn’t going to sit back and watch the US topple, another, secular despot just to witness the inevitable consequences of it.

The perpetual war enthusiasts need reined-in. If it weren’t for TDS and the Fake Newsers the poll numbers in support of it would be overwhelming.

The coalition isnt toppling Assad but I do see you support Isis.

Israel wanted regime change in Syria since the mid 1990s when Clean Break Strategy came out.. That has NOTHING to do with US foreign policy.

The US didn't want to topple Assad at all. We had nothing to do with Syria erupting into protests or Assad killing the protesters. Syria was in a downward spiral from 2004-2005.. with drought, inflation, unemployment, over population and their persistent sectarian strife.

You might want to read up on the history of Syria.. Its remarkable for the number of military coups since 1945, collective slaughter of the opposition and assassinations.

Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu reported on Tuesday that the details of the deployment and development of the two sites had been authorized by President Vladimir Putin last week. “We have started the process of formation of our permanent forces [in Syria],” Shoigu said at a ministry meeting.

Russia has been flying sorties from Khmeimim since 2015, when its Syria anti-terrorist campaign started. The site in Tartus has been operating since the 1970s, but was a small facility meant for resupplying Soviet and later Russian ships. Officially dubbed a “material-technical support point” in naval nomenclature, it is not fitted to dock or repair larger ships.

The Russian Navy, however, reportedly intends to expand the facility significantly. Under the agreement with Syria, the future base would be allowed to host up to 11 Russian warships, including those with a nuclear power plant. At the moment there is only one Russian nuclear-propelled military surface ship, the 24,000-ton battlecruiser ‘Pyotr Velikiy’, although Russia will soon have a nuclear icebreaker – albeit which is unlikely to be given a mission in the Mediterranean – while a brand new Lider-class destroyer project is at the design stage.

Such a big infrastructure project is likely to require significant investment of capital and time, so details of the navy’s plans for Tartus may be less grandiose than expected. The port, however, has already received attention from the Russian military, which used it as a logistics point in supplying the Khmeimim base over the two years of operations. Last year the approach to the piers was deepened by engineers to allow faster serving of transport ships.

Bush was not in Syria.. Obama put together th e coalition. Trump expanded it's battlefield autonomy.
ISIS is now an insurgency and will stay that way no "bounce back"

That's nice and fully expected, but more importantly.. Has Putin invited the Syrian refugees to return to Syria?

We supported jihadists when we armed the ‘moderate’ Syrian rebels. A non-ISIS jihadist is just a jihadist by another name.

Till Trump shut that down. I believe that was Obama’s policy in Syria. Obama didn’t have what it took to stand up to the perpetual war establishment. Obama never got past the first step, when he actually fired Mattis.

For the same reason Trump let go of him. Trump is willing to pull out and take the heat for it. And you goof balls want to impeach him for paying off a hooker—years before he became president.

I find it very difficult to take lefties serious any more.

the war is still going on. Some refugees are returning already.but the refugee crisis in Jordan/Turkey remains

Mattis was the head of Central Command.

Obama fired Mattis for being too aggressive in running Central Command as a 4 star Marine corps General.

Mattis resigned telling Trump what a danger he is to the international order.

there would have been a vacuum if Assad had been deposed........that didn't happen......

So just fuck the Syrian Rebels who will be wiped out by Assad and his Russian help- right behind our departure, and just fuck the the Kurds who the Turkish president just threatened to wipe out as soon as we are gone- and advised our president of this, as well, the day before announcing his decision to pull us out? Huh?

Do you ever think about the consequences of Donald Trump's actions?

Fuck the consequence of Donald Trump's actions, because Donald Trump said so, and so what Donald Trump wants, for whatever reason, Donald Trump gets! Right?

I say WRONG!

THE WORLD WASN'T PUT HERE SO DONALD TRUMP CAN GET HIS WAY ABOUT EVERYTHING!

Your brain is in full clusterfuck. trump pulling out of Syria now supports ISIS.

how long do you want us in Syria? Because if it's about the Kurds there is no end to that mission

the problem is there is never an ideal time to leave.
It will always be about "preventing" something - and that means a perpetual presense.

A perpetual presence in Syria??? That's completely asinine for the US..

So Trump saw ISIS was destroyed as a "state" -which was the mission- and got out.

That's a 100% better position then our normal "mission creep"

Yep, if we stay, ... we just become a free police force, sacrificing our blood and treasure for a world that hates us.
