Just bow out gracefully. You don't need to keep making excuses for the fact that you can't explain how liberals hate America. If you read Zinn's book you should be able to quote examples from it. I haven't read it and I don't believe it's a textbook.

There are plenty more accomplished historians that disagree with Zinn. Just google. Quite an eye opener.
