I have to admit I didn’t see this lie coming

Nadler is actually saying Mueller was limited in scope.

ROFLMAO

Yeah, that’s why he took Manafort down for decades old crimes

Apparently he forgot that leftists were saying Mueller can look at anything he wants

These leftists are like five year olds who didn’t get the Xbox for Christmas and are throwing a tantrum

Apparently Nadler and Schiff think they will find something Mueller didn’t

I encourage them to keep on keeping on

First off, "Brierfart," for real?

Nadler is correct, Mueller was limited to the three conditions listed in the authorizing memo, think of Starr who in four years went from Whitewater to illicit affairs.

And rest assured, the House Democrats will continue, they can now call forward witnesses and documents that were previously restricted by the Mueller investigations. On top of that, Trump has NY, Virginia, and the DC office on his trail

Hell I thought he even had Trumps tax returns

The cognitive dissonance is strong on this one

Why don't you post his entire statement in context, drool bucket?

Nadler:

“There have been obstructions of justice, whether they are —clearly, whether they are CRIMINAL OBSTRUCTION is another question. But we have — the special prosecutor is limited in scope. His job was limited in scope and LIMITED TO CRIMES. What Congress has to do is look at a broader picture. We are in charge —we have the responsibility of protecting the rule of law, of looking at obstructions of justice, abuses of power, at corruption, in order to protect the rule of law so that our democratic institutions are not greatly damaged by this president.”

So the question is whether or not you're being dishonest or just not intelligent enough to discern the legal difference between obstruction and criminal obstruction, and to understand that just because a particular act of obstruction might not rise to the level of a criminally prosecutable act, it could still be an impeachable offense.

If you'll recall, Trump's party thought Clinton's evasive answer during the deposition in the Paula Jones civil case, though not criminal, was an obstruction of justice worthy of impeachment.

How much you wanna bet any potential non-criminal acts of obstruction by Trump that would almost certainly be many times worse, will be met with indifference by the Congressional Repugnants and their peons like you?

Ken Starr was an INDEPENDENT Counsel. (brought in from the outside)
Mullet was a SPECIAL counsel. (he had been and was from the inside; had conflict of interests and never should have been appointed)

***********************

The formal name for a special prosecutor, in this sense, is a "special counsel." With the title come broad investigatory powers, allowing Former Director Mueller to look into the Russia matter with limited oversight. Special counsels tend to come from within the Justice Department itself -- many are U.S. Attorneys, or assistant U.S. Attorneys, but in cases where there is deemed to be potential for a conflict of interest, someone from outside the Justice Department may be appointed.

When most people think of the position, they probably think of Ken Starr and his long investigation into President Clinton, which eventually resulted in a Congressional impeachment trial.

Here's the rub, though: Starr's investigation was conducted through the Office of Independent Counsel, which no longer exists, since the law establishing it expired in 1999.

That law, passed in 1978, was a response to Watergate and created a separate prosecutor office to avoid conflicts-of-interest questions by having an independent counsel appointed by a panel of judges from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia. But again, it has expired.

The new regulations under special counsels are currently appointed refer to the position as a "special counsel." When the function was created, in response to the Watergate investigation, it was known as "special prosecutor", and the individual was appointed by a judicial panel. The only person with the power to appoint an individual in these circumstances is the Attorney General, or in this case, the Deputy Attorney General, because of Jeff Sessions' recusal.

If critical evidence was found in the case but it was in, say, Russia and therefore unobtainable, "then it would be improper to seek an indictment. Critically, the entire investigation would then remain secret. It would be a violation of law for a prosecutor to make public the results of a grand jury investigation that did not result in an indictment."

So a special counsel could find incriminating information and keep it secret forever. Alternatively, a special counsel, in an effort to justify its efforts and expenditures, would have a tremendous incentive to get a prosecution even if it's unnecessary or unwarranted.

So there is now obstruction of justice that isn’t a crime?

Please elaborate. How does one obstruct justice without committing a crime?

Also, why wouldn’t Mueller nab Trump for obstruction if he found it?

Mueller had an unfettered investigation.

So now Mueller was restricted?

Hell I thought he even had Trumps tax returns

The cognitive dissonance is strong on this one

Mueller was restricted to investigating potential criminal charges as set by his authorizing memo, and as you should know after a decade of GOP endless "investigations," Congressional Committees are performing oversight as directed by the Constitution which doesn't mean strictly criminal charges

And Mueller didn't have Trump taxes, no one does, yet

Yeah.......having to do with Russians infiltrating the 2016 election and any possible ties regarding that infiltration with the Trump campaign. PERIOD.

It is not Congress job to investigate crimes you fucking moron; that is the purview of the JD and special council. If there was obstruction, Mueller would have been entirely within his scope to pursue it.

No wonder you morons are partisan hacks foe the Party of the Jackass. Nadler is almost as big of a moron as you are.

(ii) any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation; and

What is restrictive in that recital you dishonest moron?

If that is true, than Manafort would be a free man.

Let’s see if you can wrap your brain around it. I don’t hold out a lot of hope

Are you two really this dumb or are you just feigning ignorance to support your stupid, flimsy premise?

If Trump acted dishonestly or unethically in any of his business dealings that might have been in the CIVIL COURT SYSTEM, and in being dishonest or withholding requested or required evidence or information that could have been damaging to his own case, or if he suborned perjury by someone else, etc, etc, etc, that could be considered non-criminal obstruction of justice and according to the legal precedent set by Ken Starr and the Republican House during the Clinton-Lewinski case, could be considered an impeachable offense. Especially if it involved a large amount of money or if it caused great financial harm to other people.

I'm sure you'll find some slick way to squirm, wiggle and weasel your way around reality, but that's just the way it is.

So now you're saying that "dishonest or unethical business dealings", "withholding requested or required evidence or information", and "suborning perjury by someone else" are NON-CRIMINAL and therefore can't be prosecuted for it!!

first off what don't know WHAT Mueller's charter was -remember Rosenweasel expanded it on Aug 2 , 2017?
I guarantee it was more -not less expansive- but it' s a secret. :rolleyes:
~~~
also what is this shit???
There have been obstructions of justice, whether they are —clearly, whether they are criminal obstruction is another question.
Obstruction of Justice is a CRIME.
There was either a CRIME or NO crime -not this squishy area Nadler is using to expand beyond Muellers charter.
Why even bother trying to justify Congressional Over-reach?
Just be honest "we want to kill Trump and we don't GAF how we do it" and crawl further up Trump's rectum
It's either perjury, suborning perjury, or obstruction -all legal charges -or not
he was not restricted (unfettered) in any fashion -where do you come up with this shit?
Is this going to be the "new collusion" standard? WTF?
