Rosenstein Breaks Silence on Barr’s Handling of Mueller Repor~Criticiism bizarre

sure. so let's hire an independent prosecutor with no evidence of an underlying crime
-after already being investigated for a year....
your sophistry is worse then your TDS

Let me just go out on a limb here.

The President's baseless charges that the investigation should be investigated will go about as far as his claim that there was voter fraud. Whatever happened to his commission on voter fraud anyway? Oh yeah. It had to be disbanded after finding nothing to back up the President's baseless claims. No surprise there - President Trump lied again. Same old same old.

The investigators are already being investigated, Snowflake. The IG now and the A/G promised...soon.

trump never should have stated publicly that he fired Comey to end the Russia problem, and then backtrack and say it was because Comey was a bad boy whose coworkers hated him.

It’s not that there’s no case to be made for obstruction.

It’s that the case is so *weak* that Mullet was even forced to pass on it—or give it a non-exoneration, whatever the hell that’s supposed to mean. As it’s been explained countless times, Trump’s authority to fire Comey is unassailable under the constitution. Throw in the fact it was done under Rosenstein’s recommendation. Let’s not stop there—there was also no underlying crime of collusion conspiracy.

No federal prosecutor in his right mind would dare take that to trial unless he wants to look like an idiot.

A *strong* obstruction of justice case involves destruction of evidence, witness tampering, perjury, bribing witnesses, threatening witnesses and etc.

It’s a Nothing Burger.

You think it was done under Rosenstein's recommendation and even he doesn't say that. He said trump was planning to fire Comey for months, and he was made to write a letter justifying the firing.

Obstruction in a crime that never happened, collusion. Priceless.

Why should anyone ‘be forced’ to write a letter recommending Comey be fired lol?

I bet you could have wrote one in October of 2016 lol.

Obstruction in a crime that never happened, collusion. Priceless.

Well *technically* you could still be guilty of obstruction in that instance.

The point is no prosecutor would pursue it. The judge might even throw it out.

But Trump is ‘special’ lol.

Because trump told him to. Haven't you read his comments about this?

Be honest lol.

You could have wrote a letter recommending Comey be fired in 2016, right? Actually, why was it left up to Trump to fire Comey when just about everyone [myself included] thought he should have been fired for the way he handled the Clinton ‘matter’?

Wasn't it rosenweasel who signed off on the FISA warrants without vetting them? And then RESUBMITTED them when they expired? At the very least, he got some 'splainin' to do

Was it on this or another thread where I speculated that Trump ‘might have something’ on Rosenstein lol?

It explains why he acts like a puppy fresh from obedience school.

Hello Darth,

So, people surrounding Trump should be permitted to indulge in criminal acts, because, Trump lol?

To what are you referring?

That *perverse* attitude is precisely what got us into this mess. And again, please do yourself a favor and take an online civics course.

What got us into this mess is a lack of good public education and abuse of power, coupled with unvetted social media and widespread apathy.

Hello Darth,

To what are you referring?

What got us into this mess is a lack of good public education and abuse of power, coupled with unvetted social media and widespread apathy.

So, you think people should be able to walk into any president’s office, wearing a wire, and not face a criminal charge for doing it?

What country are we in?

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein was the person who appointed Robert Mueller as Special Counsel in the first place, due to then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions recusal from overseeing the Russia probe. Ever since William Barr was installed as Attorney General, Rosenstein has been an increasingly invisible figure, even though he apparently agreed with Barr that the evidence “wasn’t sufficient” to allege that President Donald Trump obstructed justice.

Rosenstein, having witnessed the backlash over Barr’s four-page letter detailing Mueller’s “principal conclusions,” decided to comment on recent events Thursday in the Wall Street Journal.

Rosenstein said that, contrary to what critics have said, Barr has been “as forthcoming as he can” about the reductions of Mueller’s 400-page Russia report.

Barr has said that there would be redactions in four key areas: grand jury information, intel sources and methods, information on peripheral/uncharged third parties, and information that would jeopardize ongoing DOJ prosecutions. Barr said these redactions would be “color-coded” and accompanied by “explanatory notes.” He also said that the “special counsel and his staff are helping select the information in the report that falls into those [four] categories.” Barr further stated that Mueller declined to review the controversial four-page letter.

Rosenstein stated the idea that Barr is trying to be deceptive is off-base and “bizarre.”

“He’s being as forthcoming as he can, and so this notion that he’s trying to mislead people, I think is just completely bizarre,” he said.

“It would be one thing if you put out a letter and said, ‘I’m not going to give you the report,'” he added. “What he said is, ‘Look, it’s going to take a while to process the report. In the meantime, people really want to know what’s in it. I’m going to give you the top-line conclusions.’ That’s all he was trying to do.”

Rosenstein also said Americans should have “tremendous confidence” in Barr.

Notably, Rosenstein didn’t comment about Barr suggesting that there may have been “unauthorized surveillance” of the Trump campaign in 2016. Barr clarified that he didn’t have evidence of that and wasn’t stating as fact that it happened.

Rosenstein is expected to depart the DOJ soon.

Correct us if we are wrong. We the People should pay attention to "ROD".....because he is the one that suggested that a wire should be used on Trump and then declare that the 25 amendment should be invoked? Really? :bigthink: Ever wonder just why "Rod" will be departing the DOJ soon? Its to late to kiss ass now. Trump placed BARR as AG for a reason. Its time for payback, THE DONALD forgets or forgives nothing. Its going to be a "scorched earth" leading up to the 2020 election. And.....have you not wondered just why THE US SUDDENLY decided to go after the hippie journalist at WikiLeaks....right now at this point in history, RIGHT AFTER MUELLER CONCLUDED HIS PROBE?

Yes, I believe DBO covered that, "please do yourself a favor and take an online civics course.."

I’ll grant that those dots want to connect like that but I’m not getting sucked in lol.

But Trump is consistently underestimated by his many enemies. One way is with his street smarts. No doubt he is used to dealing with sketchy characters, sketchy lawyers, construction contractors, city councilmen and etc in his real estate dealings. Sketchy Deputy AG’s are hardly different.

Suffice to say, Trump knows when someone is trying to screw him just based on the environment he swam in before he took office. DC isn’t much different, when you think about it.

Trump got screwed in firing Comey—but he wasn’t going to let it happen a second time. And in fact, Trump can play that little game himself and he knows how to ‘strum the strings’ as well, or better, than any one of his enemies lol?

Am I right, Ralphie?
