US deploying carrier and bomber task force in response to 'troubling' Iran actions

Washington (CNN)The United States is deploying the USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group and a bomber task force to the Middle East in response to a "number of troubling and escalatory indications and warnings" from Iran, US national security adviser John Bolton said Sunday.

A US official with direct knowledge of the situation told CNN the threats were against both US maritime and land-based forces in the region. The deployments are aimed specifically at deterring any Iranian military actions, the official added.

In a written statement released by the White House, Bolton said the US was deploying the USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group and a bomber task force to the US Central Command region in the Middle East "to send a clear and unmistakable message to the Iranian regime that any attack on United States interests or on those of our allies will be met with unrelenting force." ...

In comments made Sunday night, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the deployments have been in the works for "a little while."

Bolton calls wolf so many times I just can't take him seriously ,,what :"threat" to US and maritime forces??

He's a really bad actor,and could seriously drag Trump into a bad situation

the way I understand it is Trump can't trust the generals ( recall he fired/quit Mattis and Kelly) for straight info

But Bolton just give a bunch of neocon screed. Makes no sense -agreed

I kinda thought it was to hear the crazy war monger ideas "for balance" & perhaps to make his decisions not look so crazy, as opposed to bolton kinda crazy..:dunno:

Everyone know that Bolton is the architect of the Iraq War Disaster.

Trump thought Bolton was the best choice in the nation to be this nation's national security advisor.

Trump lied about being against the invasion of Iraq, there is public record of him supporting the invasion of Iraq.

All signs point to Trump being a dyed in the wool Neocon, lustful for war, and constantly beating the drums for war.

Hasn't Trump also been making noises about invading Venezuela too?
