There was a school shooting but you’d hardly know it

Is there a ‘right’ to be referred to as a specific gender—regardless, of whether others recognize it lol?

That’s actually a serious question, as hard as it is to believe. Makes one wonder what kind of questions will be taken seriously ten years from now.

No. But if you're not a douchebag, you generally show respect to other people, and gender them the way they want.

They'll never get that. I don't even flinch when it happens anymore. This time being under 20 miles from where my brother lives, did cause some stir though.

The point was more to do with the media reaction than the shooting itself.

A kid in a MAGA hat created a weeks-long media uproar just for smiling/smirking at a loon beating a drum in his face. It would have mattered greatly if the perps in the CO shooting weren’t trans gendered.

And I’m pretty sure we all know this.

I'm sure it caused a stir in the region where it happened. But to most Americans, it was just another day.

It's funny/depressing. People who are old enough to remember the Columbine shooting talk about it like it was this life changing thing. Growing up in the time I am, I can't imagine people feeling that way about a shooting. There are so many, who can even keep track of them, much less think it's a wake up call?

School shootings were unheard of, back when Columbine happened. I was in Middle School at the time. Now it's something that would seem weird, if we haven't had one in awhile. Nothings ever going to be done, so you might as well ignore it. Once they give thoughts, and prayers, you know the Conservatives politicians are moving on.

What is your solution? Banning my guns?

You’re a fan of root problems?

It’s not the guns.

it should just be another day. school shootings are a non issue, not a big problem, nor a very big deal. gun rights are far more important than a couple of random kids being picked off every year.

Pushing crazy pills on kids some starting at 2yo not a big problem, nor a very big deal. $$$ for the Dr;s etc are far more important than a couple of random kids going really crazy and shooting up a school

I know. The Right actually has gotten this crazy.

Why would you say that? Is the freedom of religion more important than the lives lost in terrorist attacks? Should you be jailed for for expressing your opinion, because some have used freedom of speech to incite violence? What about a few criminals not getting caught to keep your doors from getting kicked in by the cops? Or do you just support the rights that you want people to have?

Virtually nobody is saying all guns should be banned, but that we should have stricter gun laws to kids don't regularly get shot at school. And while I'm not in favor of banning all guns, that's no where near as bad as losing freedom of speech or religion. Losing those things would actually lead to more deaths, whereas we could probably get along without guns.

So you only support rights you agree with. Got it. And you should define regularly. More kids are shot in a holiday weekend in any urban center than are shot in schools across the country in a year.
