Nancy Pelosi: I pray for you

you know hOw you can not have an abortion, don't be slutty, and that goes for the man and the woman!

Even if people stick to whatever your personal religious taboos are about sex, that still doesn't mean no possible need for abortion. For example, someone could never have sex other than in a marriage at a time when she is actively trying to have kids, and then she gets raped by someone, or she gets pregnant by her husband who then leaves, or she comes down with terminal cancer and doesn't think it would be fair to leave a motherless child, or otherwise circumstances change dramatically. Better to leave these matters to individual conscience rather than have Big Brother impose his will on everyone by way of the law.

I corrected your Spanish conjugation of the infinitive, "tragar," mujer de gato, on the "Near-nonagenarian Nancy natters nonsensically."

De nada.

You didn't "correct" it. You offered the difference between Castilian Spanish and another dialect. I prefer Castilian. :D

Verb conjugations have no bearing to Castilian Spanish which is a dialect spoken in central and Northern Spain. Pronunciations as in “cinco” which is pronounced “thinko” in Seville where I lived and “sinco” in central and northern Spain, define dialects not verb conjugation.

Nice try, but verb conjugations have nada to do with dialects.

To prove my point, I dare you to find a verb conjugation chart that differentiates between Castilian and Andalusian Spanish.

“Tragaron” is the preterite and “tragaban” is the imperfect.

Since the tigers only swallowed the wheat once not continuously, the correct conjugation is “ tragaron” and not “tragaban,”

You are welcome.

OR you can be happily married, get pregnant on purpose, then discover during a routine exam that the child has severe birth defects and will either die shortly after birth, or suffer terribly and *then* die. The comment that you responded to is typical of males who claim to be pro-life. They're not. They're slut-shaming dateless morons.

Thanks, Miss Marple. The cookie was delicious. How was the crow?

Aw...that was ugly. I take it back, Miss Marple.

Here you go, Mr. Earl. Lots of information at this link. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish_dialects_and_varieties

Old World varieties are:

  • Northern Peninsular (Asturias, Castilla y León, Cantabria, Basque country, Navarre, Aragón, Rioja, Provinces of Guadalajara and Cuenca)
  • Central-Southern Peninsular (Madrid, Toledo, La Mancha)
  • Southern Peninsular (Andalusia, Extremadura, and Murcia)
  • Canarian (Canary Islands)
  • the ebbing Philippine Spanish[SUP][4][/SUP][SUP][5][/SUP][SUP][6][/SUP] (Philippines)

I've been to most of those places, Miss Marple, even the Canary Islands.

Though I had two years of Spanish in high school and one year at Vandy and could read and write it, I learned to speak Spanish during my three years in Sevilla, llena de gracia (full of grace).

I even saw Orson Welles in his yacht at the Féria de Sevilla.

Conoce Espana?

Yep. The "pro-life" movement's positions on various issues seem bizarrely inconsistent if you try to think of it in terms of an actual reverence for life, but once you realize that it's all about "slut shaming" women who don't stick to their religion's sexual taboos, it all makes sense. That's why, for example, you won't find them championing things that would cut back on miscarriages (even though those will also save fetal lives), but will find them trying to make contraceptives more expensive (which will result in more loss of fetal life).
