The FEC can initiate criminal prosecutions by referring the crime and submitting it's evidence to prosecutors. Fines are the FEC norm, Obama $375K, 2008 for example. No fines have been imposed, or criminal referrals submitted in relation to 2016. Your claims are ... disingenuous ... to put it politely. In 2011 John Edwards was indicted for FEC violations, and 4 counts of the indictment were charges of lying to FEC investigators. I don't have to "try" very hard at all.

Yes sure it is. Tell me all about Ms Weintraub's unwaivering support for Trump. Weintraub as I mentioned, formerly employed by Perkins Coie, cleared Hillary for funding foreign oppo research. Weintraub just publicly warned Trump that under NO circumstances was it legal to "solicit, accept or receive" foreign oppo research. Your claim couldn't be more ridiculous. Weintraub also writes OP-EDs for WaPo and the NY Times. She was very much opposed Citizens United. Weintraub only applies her lofty standards to conservatives. Typical of any sleazy DNC lawyer. Let's not forget John Edwards who Weintraub had indicted, though he was later acquitted, and the FEC charges were dropped. Your claims of pro Trump bias are ridiculous, and Weintraub has been with the FEC since 2002. She's not "acting" chair, and she doesn't owe Trump anything.

I don't really "do" ultimatums ... sorry. For the benefit of anyone who's perhaps foolish enough to believe Weintraub isn't behind many of the phony Trump investigations. Contrary to the fairytales you're trying to sell ... I found this trove of factual information. https://www.fec.gov/about/leadership-and-structure/ellen-l-weintraub/ Another bit of irony is that Weintraub's .gov webpage promo's her WaPo, NYT, CNN, MSNBC contributions. And looking at it, most of that material looks to be prohibited by the Hatch Act. Now if you'd like to move onto another "acting" appointee who has declined to take legal action against Trump, I'll understand. Weintraub's been a trainwreck for you.

I've already linked you to the reason why the FEC is impotent to bring actions against trump. You only get one citation until you directly address that which has been presented to you.

No worries...the SDNY has plenty to deal with. trump tried to insulate himself by firing Bharara, but he has no reach in the state of NY.

The FEC isn't impotent and the criminal referrals they submitted for John Edwards resulted in a 6 count indictment. 4 counts were for lying to the FEC's federal investigators. The FEC investigation into Cohen's illegal contribution, payments to Daniels, and Cohen's reimbursement. You want to argue the FEC is impotent, and at the same time tout the case the FEC is helping SDNY try and prove? What you've done is show that SDNY has little hope of bringing a case against Trump. Weintraub would have levied fines and demanded campaign money be repaid. The FEC independently ruled that Edwards had to repay $2.3 million in a seperate action from the indictment.

It's pretty obvious that I know quite a bit more about both than you do. Otherwise you wouldn't have repeatedly doubled down on Trump's "acting" flunkies protecting him. Every investigation outside of Pelosi's politburo is being conducted by the FEC and SDNY and neither agency is run by an "acting" Trump appointee. Their cases are every bit as flimsy as your argument BTW.

And though it's really hard to believe, each your successive replies has contained less substance than it's vapid predecessor. I've very well demonstrated that Pelosi et al are as the thread title states: "taunting Trump with threats". There's no indication they're anything but idle threats, meant to harass and annoy the president. Very few besides yourself would think that Trump will be charged with a crime, in or out of office. Get your "Impeach#46" bumper sticker ready, Trump'll win a 2nd term.

The only "fact" you posted was that if sufficient evidence were at some point gathered by some prosecutor somewhere, Trump could be indicted. So again, Pelosi et al, just like yourself are merely taunting. My quest is to separate fact from fiction. If a credible allegation surfaces I'll bring it to your attention. I'm not stingy with the truth.

Of course trump will be indicted. That's not even up for debate. We'll just have to wait until Jan. '21. If trump feels taunted, it's because he's like the the villain in 'The Telltale Heart'. He's knows he's guilty, and the law is closing in.
