Let's see. All these illegals are living on something.
Good to see you recognize reality. Illegals. Not legal. That's a good start.
It's not welfare, despite the fond beliefs of the Reichtards. They are working. What will happen when a million workers are removed from the books?
I suspect their employers will have to start paying payroll taxes, FICA, FUCA, and whatever else they haven't been paying.
I don't believe the economy will tank totally, but there will be repercussions. You know how you all whine and cry about the minimum wage and don't want to see it raised because you all don't want to pay more for a greasy McD burger or to have your office cleaned?
You have me mistaken for someone else. I'm very much on record as saying make min. wage whatever you want. It makes no difference. But that's for another discussion.
Wait till all the illegals are gone and businesses are forced to hire Americans who won't work for less than minimum wage. Wait till they have to pay minimum wage to hire ppl to harvest crops -- assuming they can find anyone to do that hard work. Wait till construction companies have to pay minimum wage to day laborers, and charge more to build your house or new road.
I suspect illegals are a very small percentage of employees but you seem to be an expert on this. Enlighten me.
Your strawman about leftists don't want to do anything is just nonsense so no point in even replying to it.
Good excuse for avoiding the subject. I really haven't heard any permanent solutions from the left
at all. DACA is kicking the problem down the road.
The open border thing is even more ridiculous.
When dim candidates say they want to decriminalize being here illegally and stop there I interpret that as 'open borders'. Maybe you can expound on what happens after they're decriminalized. I haven't heard anything from dims.
If you don't want illegal workers, deport the ppl who hire them.
I'd be OK with that but a severe monetary penalty for a first offender and jail time thereafter seems more reasonable. I notice you don't mention deporting the person here illegally, only the citizen.
What I thought. No response. No immigration plan or reform. I'm open to any of your suggestions but progs never, ever come up with anything other than 'decriminalize' being here illegally. In other words make it legal. Open borders.
Go ahead, admit it, that's what you want. If not at least tell is what it is you want. E.g., you could say
'I support not enforcing existing immigration laws".
Of, "If someone is crafty enough to live here for 5 yrs. (or months, or days) illegally and get away with it, I support making them a citizen."
